errrrrrrr....to see how many of us think Lewis is the best driver on the grid. I thought that was pretty obvious.
Someone claimed that almost everyone agreed that Ham is the best driver on the grid/better than vettel and this is the result. So far it's not very close.
Oh yeah....I forgot...if you don't think Lewis is the best driver on the grid, you obviously hate him! How could I forget that?
Unfortunately two of the Hamilton fanboys are currently banned so the result is not correct But again everybody that said "no he isn´t" must be Lewis hater....Bravo clap clap
WEll, Massa won more races in 08 than Elton and led almost more 100 laps.....plus he had internal oposition from his team mate, Hamilton had a slave boy, and had several mechanical failures and team screw ups, Hamilton had none of that....and still he needed a rigged race to win by 1 point...lolololo
I think Hamilton is one of the best drivers today. Along with Seb and Fred. But at the same time I believe F1 is so competitive, that you can't seriously call one top driver significantly better than others. And even if you lower the standards, it is super hard (if not downright impossible) to say which one of the top three is better than the other two. I do believe however Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel are significantly better than the rest of the field. And that's nothing really new to F1. There always were a couple (three at the most) top drivers who were better than the rest. And which one of those won the title depended mostly on the cars they drove and also somewhat on luck. Vettel had the best car of the grid for 4 years. Alonso had it probably for 2 and now Lewis has it. Swap these guys around in their seats and the WDCs go the other way. However: Often it is part of a real WDC/GOAT talent to pick the right car at the right time. Or develop it (really hard today with the testing ban). Vettel's move to RB was prompted by his insane ueber race at Monza in the "Minardi". Alonso was smart enough to place his cards right with Flav. He too did some miracles in the (real) Minardi and he developed the car. Lewis was smarter than anybody else to abandon McLaren at the right moment and join MB. Remember how down and out MB was at the time and everybody thought Lewis was crazy? Well, he made the perfect move in hindsight. Something the likes of Alesi and Gilles probably couldn't say.
+1 I've been rewatching the 2008 season (currently on Monaco) and the amount of bad luck Kovalainen had early on, whilst beating hamilton too at times (!), was terrible!
People have short memories. At this level its 90% car and 10% driver, every driver that gets an f1 seat is an amazing driver. Season after season shows us it's the chassis, motor, tires that make the difference. I think most pro drivers all over the world would be in the top 3 in LH's car this year in f1.
Pay attention to the robbery in Spa. One of the best finishes in modern F1 where Kimi got schooled and crashed like a rookie. Ferrari stewards had their heads explode. You like to imagine some conspiracy in Brazil, but nobody wants to mention the REAL ROBBERY in SPA.
Now what did you say about excuses If it suits your arguments than the judgment of the stewards is definitely the truth (last week) and if it does not suit you it is "robbery". In Brazil was no conspiracy, just bad driving of Hamilton resulting in a very lucky WDC that race (not in general but that day). Edit: or to say it with your words...In Brazil Hamilton was schooled by a rookie (Vettel)
If you say so. You're wrong, of course. I actually encouraged no discussion in my post, if you'd bother reading.
I don't need to count back, Alonso was on top of the rookie, then he decided to leave having been messed around by the team, and his performances dropped. Points mean prizes, eaton did not beat him, don't twist my statements
I love that it comes back to 'who got the title if Kimi wasn't there'. Crikey, so last year, if elton wasn't there, Nico was actually world champion! Wow, and there's me hearing how rubbish he is all the time, yet he would be world champion but for that other chap pinching it. Alonso must have won in 2012, it's just that pesky Vettel fella that stopped him claiming his prize, well I never, I can now rest easy making all the results suit me, and not accept the actual ones. Hilarious!
It surprising that after a couple days. Only four people have come out with a yes vote for elton, and one of them was apparently a joke, yet there are a few on here that tell us everyone thinks he is a god..... Finally the poll to end the argument. Hopefully be a little quieter around here from the other side of the grid
