Will there be a F12 "HGTE" Announced at Frankfurt in September?

I can't wait to see the car when it's officially released.

 

Is anyone on the forum attending the preview tomorrow? The production number I have now been advised is 699 units. Can anyone confirm this?

 

I attended the preview 2 days ago, they gave of course no indication on name and production number but people mentionned something around 700.

 

The blue one is maybe Peter's car...

Thank you Marcel. That's a 60% increase over the 458 Aperta, so hardly that limited. I wonder how the extra production numbers will affect resale values in the long term?

 

Will be interesting to see if they really even limit it to 799 considering the cars are never numbered for us to see.

 

Exactly. It is well documented that there are many more "limited production" cars produced than Ferrari claims. 599 aperta? I believe one thread said there are 120 out there, even though the car was supposedly limited to only 80 examples. I forget how many documented Enzo's are out there. Over 500 I believe. 799 production means more than that for sure.

799 seems like a lot for a limited Ferrari.

 

Legally, how would Ferrari square the circle? I agree 799 official units is hardly limited (how many F12s have been sold since its introduction?) but if they say a model is 1 of xxx, how can they sell more without legal exposure?

 

I suppose 'limited' is relative to demand and demand keeps expanding. This is a more important car with apparently far far more R&D input than the Aperta and that explains why the demand is apparently off the scale. Hence I suppose if you have 1,500 wanting one, 799 is not very many, and of those maybe only 100 RHD? That is limited.

 

Ultimately most customers would probably rather spend more money on their Ferrari rather than on a lawyer who was trying to go against Ferrari in Italy...

 

Great question. I haven't heard of any repercussions from this issue. It's why they don't have dedication plaques of the exact number (i.e. number 22/399). If they did that their little secret would be exposed. That's why they say 1/399 on all of them (all 500 of them &#128540. Doesn't seem to affect exclusivity or resale though. With so few cars distributed throughout the world, it's difficult to pin down the exact number

Fair point. Assuming the final price is relatively sensible and the car is truly exceptional as promised.

 

Right now I only know one of those two to be true........

 

Perhaps the 'new broom that is sweeping clean' ie Sergio is actually limiting production to the stated production number and that is why 699 is actually being produced or am I being naïve?

 

I am not trusting of the ways of the 'Sweater'!

 

Ferrari F12 GTO Spotted?

 

The VS number is actually 799 but the number really has little meaning if you keep the car. People complain it is worth more as a collector item if few are built. The day you take delivery of YOUR new VS at MSRP it is already worth more in the market place than you paid for it. That extra value becomes a topic of conversation but of little real use if you keep the VS for yourself...

I personally think the 'Sweater' will do just fine in his new role.

At the end of the day, the "higher" the number produced, the more vs's (plural?) will be in the world. And that's a great thing.

 

Well maybe it is a good thing.

More supply = less demand.

Round 1 is sold out. Fingers are crossed for round 2 (or in my case, round 3...or anything I can get)
