    Ciao Tutti,

    Need HELP please... How the hell do you get that "hidden" nut off, even worse, how do you get it back on???????????????

    Talking about the 3rd nut, wedged all under the master brake/clutch cylinders, holding up the pedal clutch/brake unit... What a chore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Trying to figure out the logical thinking in setting something like this up... (probably NONE)

    I use a long extension and socket to remove it. And to put the nut back on just put a piece of paper in the socket to hold the nut and start it by hand using the extension.

    Thanks, that's what I was using, but had a hard time lining up my socket with the nut since its angled upwards, and there is not much space to line it up upwards... Will try with U-joint socket...

    The nut size on my car was 9/16", I believe.

    I use a flexible extension or a universal joint between the socket and the extension. You will just have to experiment to find the right combination. Good luck. This is part of the "fun" of having a classic car! Enjoy!

    Got it out... Yes using a flex extension... A U-joint works also, just need little fiddling to get it out...;)

    It is actually a M10 small nut size, needing a 14mm socket to get it out...

    There's a mistake in the parts catalogue as it is described as a M8 nut, it's not, it's a M10...

    Also after the wrong M8 description, the catalogue states Ch. 14, Ch. for Chiave in Italiano, meaning key 14 = Key of 14mm = socket 14mm

    Note: If you decide to replace the M10 small nut by a modern size, you'll need a 17mm socket, but not sure if this will provide you with enough clearance to line up with the nut, since the 17mm socket is also much larger in size...

    Hi Carlito,
    in itali more years ago we in a cars usually use the M10 with CH 14 mm.
    Today you can use a flanged nut M10 with CH 15, probably sochet will pass thru the free space.
    Follow an italian link, but o think you can find also in your country.
    Or you buy a nut M8 and you will make a M10 thread, or you can do by hexagonal bar 14 mm by machining.

    i have an AM 107 - 2222 engine (v8 4.2 1968 QP) and tohe bolts are usually ...

    Your is carburetor version or Lucas injection?
