    Hello everybody,

I need some help identifying some of the connectors from the GCK, and finding one. The GCK is divided into seven types of connectors:

    1. Standard Sensors, 2 positions
    2. Standard Sensors, 3 or more positions
    3. Fenderwell Plugs
    4. Crank Sensor Master Plug
    5. Electronic Ignition Computer Plug
    6. Relay/Jetronic Board Master Plug
    7. Jetronic Computer Plug

I found and changed types 2 through 7, but I am having problems with number 1. There are nine 2 position sensor plugs:

    1. Warm-up Regulator
    2. Cold Start Injector
    3. Crank Sensor 1-4
    4. Crank Sensor 5-8
    5. Thermal Time Switch
    6. Frequency Valve
    7. Airflow Switch
    8. Auxiliary Air Valve
    9. O2 Sensor Heater

The first two weren’t a problem, but the rest have been a little bit of an issue. I did the two sensor plugs next to the fuel distributor, pic. 1, but I am not sure which of the nine they are. I also did one that’s under the air filter in the RR corner of the engine bay, pic. 2, and two a few inches under the oil filter that I had to access through the LR wheel well, pic. 3, I also don’t know which ones these three are. I found a red one under the intake plenum, pic. 4, but I can’t access it unless I remove at least the oil filter and some hoses, but I may have to actually remove the plenum, I think that one is the Thermal Time Switch, but I am not sure. Basically, I can only find eight, and I can only identify for sure two.

So I am reaching out to my friends in the fchat community hoping their collective wisdom will be able to help me identify all the connectors, and find the last one.

Hang out in the 348 / 355 section and you will find out what the GCK is.

Robogeek, did SR not give you a sheet of paper to tell where everything is?

The GCK is the “Gold Connector Kit”, over time the contacts in the electrical connectors become oxidized and they lose conductivity, so SR makes a kit that replaces the contacts in the most important connectors with gold plated versions, as you know gold is the best conductor, and it also doesn’t oxidize, so this kit is a great improvement over the original, in some cases it has corrected a lot of electrical gremlins this cars can have.

SR did give me an extensive set of instructions, and it included the location of some of the connectors; the fenderwell plugs, cranck sensor master plug, the electronic ignition computer, relay master plug, and the jetronic computer. I was able to find all of these, I had a little trouble finding the cranck sensor master plug and the electronic ignition computer, but with a little guidance from Eduardo (350HPMondial) I located them. However, the SR instructions don’t include any location info for the 2 position standard plugs. I was able to find 8 out of 9 of them, and I have been able to do 7 of them, but since I don’t know which plug is which, I don’t know which is the one I can’t find. Unfortunately, the owners and workshop manuals have not been very helpful.

So any help in identifying each connector, and finding the last one, would be greatly appreciated.
