Will there be a F12 "HGTE" Announced at Frankfurt in September?

Would make it considerably rarer than an F40.

More supply = lower price. I would still want one even if more were produced

It was the number mentioned at the preview I attended. I was surprised at the number based on previous LE's but 799 was definitely mentioned. Perhaps the gathering economic clouds is encouraging Maranello to make hay.

 

I am amazed, but not surprised, were that to be the case given that many have now specced and ordered their cars based, one assumes, on an assumption of production numbers. One assumes they knew what they were paying for and 799, were that to be the figure, is not exactly that limited.

And do you feel there might be an increase or decrease in numbers? The reason I ask is that I know they are currently looking again at non LF owners.

 

My view, and it is personal and certainly not based on any official comments, is that they will do more than the most recent run of limited editions.

While the number has yet to be disclosed, I would think that somewhere in the 699/799 range is likely.

I don't think that there is an association with LaF owners particularly, especially as gather 2 cars are in very different price brackets. As always, they will try to avoid speculators who are just there to make a quick buck.

 

Thanks Peter, my understanding was that whilst there isn't a direct association with LF owners, they are already effectively pre qualified and therefore would fulfil the non speculator criteria, but it is the others, like myself, who despite having been told they have been allocated a car, are now being looked at again which may suggest the 699 rather than 799 figure. I have also heard from various buyers that they were disappointed at 799 so wondered if they were reacting accordingly.

 

Just curious if you are implying that you were told you may not have the allocation you thought you had? If this is the case that would be very disappointing.

 

No, I have not and, fingers crossed, don't expect to! That would be more than disappointing.

My perception is in fact (this is what was answered to my demand) that they would reserve first the F12 VS to the one who were not able to get a LaFerrari, here is the link between LaFerrari and F12 VS "allocation". My 2 cents.

 

As far as my dealer is concerned that is not the case and half of his allocation is going to LF owners.

 

Even on this Board... Many people who already ordered it are also LaF Owners : Treynor, Elipinski, Chalstrad, Shiraz...

I'm quite surprised that anyone would say no to a car because to many are made...Surely you're buying the car because you like it, not because it's exclusive?

In any case...799 is not a lot; there are more F40's and you struggle to see them driving around, even if you go looking.

 

I think he refered to the fact, that the F12 VS derives from the F12 with at the end of its cycle approximately 5000 copies produced, whereas the F40 was more unique. Anyway u r absolutely wright, that the car should be enjoyed. Best -e-

That's a decent amount of cars for a limited edition -- essentially equivalent to a full year's run of the production vehicle. While you're also trying to continue selling the production vehicle side-by-side. With a soft market in Europe and Asia etc. etc.

I'm sure they play with these numbers all the time -- even a bit after they start to ship!

 

That is true but remember they only intended to make 399 f40s.

 

Good point. Demand and the fact (I'm told) the F40 remains the most profitable car Ferrari has made encouraged them to churn out 1315. And thank heavens they did. I'm also told there are less than 800 in existence worldwide so perhaps even rarer than the VS lol.

 

Would be interesting how many F12 VS they could sell if it was a non-limited version like just an upgrade.

I would like to have one for the track but would not pay more than 50k premium over standard F12.
