    All three are MY photos...........
    1st one taken at Mas du Clos September 1987.
    2nd one taken at Dijon on 27 April 1985.
    3rd one taken at Donington 18 July 1985.
    I had given all three (and many more) photos to Bonhams for their Quail auction August 14, 2015, and they put them on their website.
    (this 288 was sold by Bonhams for US$ 2'365'000 including buyer's premium)

    I was hugely fortunate to be given a passenger ride in a 288 GTO the other day.

    What a truly special car, this one was also driven as Enzo intended, suffice to say rather spiritedly to say the least and its hard to believe it only has 400 bhp!

    It seems to dance around corners with agility I really wasn't expecting. The whole car felt alive.

    An amazing experience.

    Its very light (@ 2,800 lbs) compared to the other Ferrari Supercars and this explains the experience.

    Although I place significantly more GTOs than any other single entity, its rarely that I come across a car that is totally documented from 1985 to 2015.

    This GTO has its factory invoice, factory Certificate of Origin, factory correspondence with the ordering customer, delivery papers, delivery insurance tags, Italian license papers, Italian insurance, EE plates information, all maintenance invoices and servicing correspondence complete from 1985 to this day in a 3" thick file, a treasure-trove of information about the life of a car.

    No gaps in history, genuine mileage successively corroborated by the invoices, and no provenance stories.

    This car's life is better documented than the lives of many people!

    A 30-year-old car's current disposition is always the net result of how it has been treated over those years, and some cars are lucky to have had diligent owners who meticulously maintained them and scrupulously collected all its relevant documents.

    A pleasure to see, and a tip of the hat to the car's successive owners.
