Thanks! I do my best to keep it up to date. The registry takes up a lot of my time but it's fun to do and I get to know a lot of fellow CS owners Big update today after my 2 week vacation!
Just sent you the info for 136877. Just picked it up today from Eugenio for its belt service. It's driven and proudly turned over 25,000 miles today. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Speciale is so far ahead of the CS in looks and capability its not even fair. Values ARE reflected to a certain extent on the intrinsic capability of the car. Its not JUST about looks and rarity (unless you are talking pre 70's cars) Sorry thems the facts. Don't believe me? Go drive one and find out for yourself. Like comparing a pickup to a sports car. And I LOVE the CS. But there just isn't any comparison.
True statement. Most people would lump ALL of these cars together as far as collectability. The TRUE collectible Ferrari is probably produced in numbers less than 500 (with the obvious Hyper Car exceptions) and built before 1976.
I certainly think the Speciale is a fantastic looking car. However, to say it is 'so far ahead' of the CS on looks strains credibility. The CS is, and will remain, one of Ferrari's most 'perfect' designs.
Yeah but very few can afford those so "collectibility" must spill over to less expensive models which will in turn also become collectible. For the record, I think there are fewer than 500 CS's still out there. I put my CS in Caffeine and Octane this weekend in Atlanta. I was amazed how much attention it got. It was the only CS in the show. Loads of people asking me about it and asking "where I got it". Guys in their 20's asking me also. Lot's of picture taking. I couldn't leave at the end of the show because so many people were talking to me. In the show there were 3 Porsche 918's, 4 Speciale, about 15 Huracan. I joked with the owner of one of the 918's that his car was "a dime a dozen".
Fair enough. I think its is prettier, but "far ahead" looks wise was probably poorly put. It is far ahead in technology and fun factor though. At least in my opinion and I have owned both.
I don't want to start a debate on which is right or wrong but i hear different numbers for the total CS production. I hear the numbers of less than 1200 built (1158 seems to be popular) and between 350 and 380 for the US. Is there a way to verify any of it? When I did a search I found several good threads but none were able to really lock down the total production. It seems like 11 years later we would be able to learn the final production numbers. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430/112834-total-worldwide-production-challenge-stradale.html
I thought I'd seen around 370 total sold in the U.S. many times? And 1288 or so worldwide? How many do you think were sold in the U.S.? Worldwide? I'm confused...
I was kidding about 600 in the U.S. lol Not real sure about worldwide production numbers but I feel very confident about 365 for North America. I've never had anyone send me a VIN that I don't have in my registry. There are about 50 CS' that have been storied with a number of those fully written off. So no more than 300 'good' ones left, at least in NA.
