I really don't get the old "if we paid pollies better, we'd get better pollies" theory. Doesn't work in business so it's only doomed to failure in public service.
Well, the current system doesn't seem to be working too well! What have we got to lose? ( or is that loose ) Cut the number of pollies by 50% and double the salaries of the ones that are left!
It works fine in business, but there are two words that must be attached to this theory. CHOOSE CAREFULLY !!!
Not sure where to put this. This was always going to happen. This is going to be interesting. 54 to 44. New PM.
Jesus, how can Gillard only have had three votes in that poll?! Time to open it up again. As for the current caper, I'm not necessarily in favour of Turnbull, but if he keeps the lefty morons out for another few years I'm all for it.
Worst? line-ball between Gillard & Abbott, but now been replaced by hopefully one of the better ones: Turnbull
You cannot be serious. Were you asleep while Rudd was at the wheel? Abbott was a much better opposition leader than Prime Minister, but worse than Rudd? Give me a break.
Just heard on the radio that Christopher Pyne is being tipped for Defence Minister!!!!! I think MT is a big step forward for the Libs (and Australia) but Pyne is exactly the kind of self-serving twit we should be trying to get rid of.
Is that Joe Hockey at the top of the screen? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0bJJaqdHPg Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lets call it a draw between juliar and dudd How dare some of you vote for PJ Keating, the guy had a silver tongue and speak straight off the cuffg, which is sadly missed these days
There is no way a PM could speak the way Keating did these days. The ABC, Twitterati and other loud social media morons make it virtually impossible for ANYONE to speak their mind any more. Let alone a politician.
Remarkable how Hawke and Keating, after a lifetime on modest union/ACTU/parliament salaries, could both retire with considerable wealth. Just lucky investment choices I guess...
