Just saw it on vacay in london. First one in uk.
Looks great and cannot imagine how someone who likes style of 458 would dislike this.

Had a great Track Day in Ecuyers (North of France) yesterday with my 458 Challenge. The dealer brought the 488 to test drive....what can I say... Went to the dealer today and signed the order...

I love the way it looks but didn't yet have the chance to drive it. Compared it yesterday with my 458 Challenge...the 488 is (much!) faster.... has better brakes (!) and is as stable in corner combinations as the 458C. Can't wait for the 488 Challenge !

Just need to fix a date (October?) to do the configuration in the Ferrari Atelier.

Great picture with both Ferrari models in yellow with a dark roof. The horse on the flank of the Challenge car looks like the old style Ferrari horse from the 1950's!
Made a decision on the color combination for the 488 order?

 

I'm not sure yet but will share once decided.

 

Ferrari was testing the 488 out in the wild but some people wondered why it wasn't red....

Sounds like any turbo exotic to me...

 

I think it's good enough that no one with 458 who wants a new exotic will feel need to switch to lambo, hold on to 458, etc. 488 will be typical success for Ferrari

 

To me it sounds like an AMG. Nothing special about it...

If the side intakes are for the airbox and intercoolers, where did they relocate the oil coolers in the back of the 458 to?

 

Interesting... if you listen and watch closely to the first link, you can see the driver downshift, but the soundtrack is a MIX of downshifting and accelerating. I started my career as a recording engineer, and I'm telling you this soundtrack has been manipulated big time. At certain times, there are two soundtracks of exhaust sounds mixing in and out together. Regardless of the quality of the sound, this is simply deceptive. That really doesn't help the discussion...

Happens specifically at 1:57 onward as he comes out of a hairpin corner.

 

Agreed.. its sounds off and overlapped - I really have no idea how he thinks "ahhh the sound", lets just call it what it is! Its turbo charging and this is the best it will be in this generation. I drove the California T and unless they have absolutely reinvented the sound its really nothing special but then again you can argue that the generation of cars will not be about that?!? Regardless Ferrari will sell everyone they can make, it will be interesting how owners react to the car once deliveries happen; taking forever!

All you're hearing is a mix between the in car and roadside recordings. I don't think it's an attempt to deceive. It's just something that's come along with the edit.
