Rich, I drove a '66 outlaw 911 all through the 80's and that was a feature of that car, so Porsche had integrated that cool function way earlier? Pretty sure I have that memory? I used to worry about the battery drain overnight, but was confident Porsche wouldn't have implemented it if battery drained overnite, so he'll yeah, I showed off that feature. Park, let the hot babe out, she notices the cool outside parking lights sort of protecting the street side of the car...in like Flint :D

That sounds right Mike as this function was available before the 930 Turbo came on the market. For U.S. Turbo Carreras, the function should work the same with the exception of the left or right front parking lights turning on vs. the small 5-watt bulbs in the H-4s.

Funny how you always seem to be able to turn someones joy of finding a very rare and special car into something financial. I thought we were going to try and stop doing that.

Mike - the Haynes manual states that the small parking light bulb was first incorporated in the H4 headlamps in the 1974 model year so perhaps your 1966 was fitted with newer lights? I'll check some other sources although I'm sure this is detailed in Ryan's new book.

    Hi All,
Anyone knows where I could find a pair of front fog lights for a 1976 930?
    Many thanks

From what I understand when Porsche moved to impact bumpers for the 1974 model year, that change required the move of the city/parking lights for the European spec cars into the headlight (North American and Japanese market 911/930s still had the side reflectors). The NA and Japanese markets also received sugar scoop headlights, so that may be another correlation with the side reflectors. Many of the Japanese market 911/930s were upgraded to H4 later in life, so few are left with the sugar scoop configuration.

Sorry, but that's exactly what I avoided by my comment "I'm not going to ask you how much you paid", as opposed to asking what he paid, which would be turning it into something financial.

Furthermore, I congratulated him on his find.

Interestingly, your very next post though is a financial one as it relates to the market: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144197962-post4758.html

Photos from the 1975 Turbo driver’s manual that nicely illustrates the 4 watt parking lights built into the H4 headlamps (body painted trim surrounds already removed). One of the 1974 press photo of S-CD 1337 appears to show the Turbo with only the parking lights on and it’s surprising that the H4's 4 watt bulbs are visible even in bright sunlight due to the headlamp’s reflector.
