I was at a car show on Friday evening and a girl (18-21 ish) came up to me, obviously dared by her friends standing in the background giggling. Her: "Nice Lamborghini" Me: It's a Honda
Driving an F355 in Clifton park NY, last week. Stopped for gas, the employee inside the store comes running out just as I'm pulling in. While I'm pumping the gas he states; "The bull may be the bigger animal, but the horse has the bigger c0ck" He then turned around and went back into the minimart.
The staff at BurgerKing was so impressed with my 599, they offer to sell the entire restaurant. Every time I order just a burger at the drive thru window, they say "You Want Franchise?"
My mom went for a ride in my 458. She said " it's bumpy like riding in an old corvette. I thought it would have had better suspension then this".
So here is a story that sums up why I love Ferrari. I took her out for a morning drive last weekend and decided to head North on the Palisades drive in NJ up the river. I decided to stop for gas and came up on a Citgo that is in between lanes further up North on the NY side. I pull in and gas up. Then decide to use the rest room and buy something. I pull the car around to the other side (going to exit South) and park on the side across from the store. I get out and a family (husband, wife and son) notice the car. I walk in and while I'm paying for something, the wife walks up and asks if her son can take a picture of the car. Of course, I say, "sure!" But I added, "... and he can sit it if he wants to." She paused in almost disbelief. She went out to tell him. When I came they were all so excited. Their son was between 8 and 10 I think and so polite. He sat on the driver side and was in awe. I let him play withe the F1 paddles, etc. So as he's getting out I say, "so you want to go for a ride?" The expression on his face was priceless! He couldn't believe it. So he got in the passenger side and I let him put the top down and start the engine by pushing the button. We went around the parking lot in 1st gear but I had an opportunity to gun it so he could hear the high revs. We pull back around, he gets out and the first thing he says to his parents is, "I'M GETTING A FERRARI!." I drove off and they later caught up to me going in the same direction. I passed them in 3rd with the engine ablaze. We waved to each other as they exited off the highway. I saw myself in this cool boy. I wanted one so bad when I was his age. It was so awesome to pass on the excitement to the next generation.
This honestly is what's it's all about. I'll sit there for ever letting kids get familiar with the car. Their parents are pretty shocked for the most part. I still revert to being a child myself every time I look at mine or any Ferrari for that matter. If I inspire one kid to chase his dreams in pursuit of one day getting his own then the car has paid for itself. Kids need to see these cars and understand that ordinary people can work hard and get them.
Took a friend out for a drive this weekend, She wasnt thouroughly impressed until i let the 308 sing at 8000rpm through a tunnel. We had to go thru the tunnel again cause she didnt believe the 308 was the source of all that screamin!
Two girls were walking around my Azurro Modena. One of them told to the other one: " This color really doesn't look good on this Peugeot" :-o
Ouch!! But chances are good at least one of them was hot. CZ has some very hot women. I'm half Czech, but have never been there. Sure wish I'd worked harder at learning the language when my grandparents were alive. I'd love to go there today with the ability to speak the language.
Well done. The first time I sat in a Ferrari was when I bought my first TR back in 2005. My latest story. Went to the grocery store and a lady followed me into the parking lot. She rolled down the window and said 'beautiful car'. Followed by 'is it for sale?' Her forwardness kinda raised my suspicion...something wasnt right. So I said, "$160K and its yours". Her demeanor changed and she replied, "Beautiful car" and drove off. I noticed her car had dealer plates. I think her husband owns the local second hand exotic dealership. I cant fault her for trying to hustle.
I was getting home and a younger woman decides to cross the street half a block in front of me just as the valves in the exhaust open up. She jumped startled and proceeded to flip me off. I suggested she should use the sidewalk next time. She approached my car and spit on the windscreen. Real classy. First time I've ever had a negative experience with the car and right in front of home too. She's lucky my parents raised me to never lay hand on a woman, but then again they insist on equality.
- How fast does it go - Have you gotten a ticket yet? - I bet that car gets a lot of head turns - Want to race? - You drive a mustang? - Is that a Testarossa?
A young man asked me if my 458 Spider cost $500k. I said no, not that much. He wanted to take a picture any way.
A guy at work asked me if I've seen the new LaFerrari. I said yes. He said," I bet those are at least $250,000." He was totally serious. He doesn't know much about Ferraris at all. During lunch I ran out to meet my wife. I was in our Tundra and she was in the 458. While walking out to the parking lot a guy asked me "how much?" I replied, The tundra, 20k" He said, " oh I thought that was yours, I told my wife I bet its 100,000 grand". Appears that our cars have taken a major dip in the last few days.
Wow, I'll buy two at that bargain price, ha Hahahaha. Mind you, it's nice when they get it so wrong as if they are thinking less, they aren't getting so jealous!
