The idiot dutch commentator, even during replays was *****ing on and on about Massa and that it was his fault. Dude needs new glasses for sure.

Concur. Hulk looked like an idiot there to me IMO.

Sorry but Massa was much slower and under orders to blend in, not just force his way in.

IMO both showed poor judgement. Yes, Massa had no where to go but he put himself there, not Hulk who was flying past him.

Looked like a "racing incident" to me too. Obviously the stewards, who have many more views than us beg to differ.

I am surprised he (either of them I believe?) weren't called to "testify" however; I thought they had the right to be heard.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Christian Danner at RTL said the same...One might argue that he is German but he is an ex-F1 driver (although not very competitive) at least...

I know that Suzuka is a power track, but we saw vulnerability in the Mercedes camp this weekend. If Seb can stay reliable and Mercedes suffer again, the championship fight may not be over. Kimi did it in 2007, and I would love to see Seb steal this one from Mercedes. Going to be in Italy next 2 races, should be fun to catch the broadcasts there instead of nbc. Forza Ferrari, Forza Seb, I love hearing the German and then Italian national anthem after the race, I really missed hearing them together since Michael left.

Yah but once Hulk saw him there, it would probably have been a good idea not to drive right into the side of his car. If he had so much more pace, he should have easily been able to take the outside line - there was plenty of room. Where was Massa supposed to go? Jump the curb on the left?

+1 the replay shows Hulk simply driving into Massa. Thats what the Stewards blamed him for. He crossed into him. He also admitted seeing Massa and 'assumed' he was behind.

Team orders aside and all other nonsense, max is entertaining to watch. He brings some much needed pizazz.

The NBC commentators said they told max to let him by so he could pass Maldonado in the championship.

In post race interview, Rossi said that he lost his radio half way through the race, and had to rely on the pit boards alone. Says because of the radio loss, he didn't hear the call to unlap himself, and was waiting for the safety car lights to turn green, as they normally do. Lights didn't turn green, so he held positio waiting.

Absolutely well done bringing the car home in his race debut, but even better job bringing it home with no radio, and getting caught up in the restart. And 15 seconds ahead of his teammate to boot.

(On the bright side, at least with no radio they couldn't have told him to swap positions with Stevens...)

Rossi is already better than Maldanado. George Lucas should sponsor him and get him into a better team.

Fair enough. He did go well off track in T1 immediately and made no attempt to block Kimi.

Odd, NBC Sports has been pushing the "same number of wins in the same number of starts as Senna" all season. Funny if they had it all wrong.

Great race from Ferrari. Vettel commanded the race from start to finish. If he needed to expand the gap, he put 2 seconds in Rici on-demand. Kimi wasn't thrilled with the car all weekend. Don't know why. But, he was surprised with his Quali performance and was able to hold position. Job well done.

I know Suzuka is a power circuit, but weird stuff going-on at Merc and a track that both Ferrari drivers have performed well at in the past may bring us another surprising weekend. Looking forward to it.

Now, IMO, LeMans was at fault in his contact with Massa. Bonehead move. LeMans saw him coming out of the pits and was able to give room on the inside. Massa was as left as you can be, other than driving left of the curbing. LeMans had plenty of momentum to keep right and pass Massa swiftly and cleanly. He made a mistake turning-in to the apex.

Max drove a great race. As mentioned, did not let the start dictate his finish. Kept his head down and got the job done. Looking forward to seeing him in Red come 2017. Just gotta remind him he will be the definitive #2 at that time...

Yeap. His last win was end of 1992 with Mclaren...With Williams he didn't have a win before he died. So Senna achieved the 41 wins in 158 starts :)

One thing this weekend confirmed for me is that both Hammy and nico are clueless when it comes to car setup IMHO.

Hardly, IMO. He's still a crapload of points ahead. If he had lost the lead, you'd had seen a very different Lewis :).

Exactly. If he couldn't pass Max, no way in hell he'd have passed Perez. He wasn't just going to move over for him too. Very glad he refused. The use of team orders for that is just pathetic. Hope Max set the example for others NEVER to attempt that again :).

The SPA blowout could end up being a big loss for Vet. I suspect merc will bounce back though.

    Wrong!

Sainz didn't attempt to pass Verstappen aggressively because they are in the same team, therefore a clash would have been disastrous with the team.

Sainz was on FRESH TYRES and in better position to launch an attack Perez than Verstappen on worn tyres. It just makes sense for a team to try to put one of his cars further ahead in the points, and the cooperation of the other driver is expected.
Instead, we had a tenager's tantrum!

If Verstappen was so good, why couldn't he pass Perez?

I think that refusal to follow team orders will not be forgotten. Usually team managers take a deem view of not being obeyed by drivers.

I read not to long ago that the team said Verstappen was correct and they made a mistake telling him to give up the position.

Senna won his 41 races in 158 races and then did not finish his last 3 so yes he did get 41 wins in 158 races and finished with a total of 161 races. If anyone had to be the one to pass Senna, I am glad it was Vettel.
