Is Lewis Hamilton your favourite current F1 driver?

We have 164,000 users on this forum, only 90 said Lewis wasn't their favorite driver. Yeah, real popular

 

I'll make it easy for you.

Out of 164,000 users, only 105 voted and 85.71% of them rejected Hamilton as their favourite driver.

That's an overwhelming majority.

On a website devoted to an entirely different marque, out of a grid of more than 4 drivers, the poll results are quite impressive in Hamiltons favor. He is far far above an even divide of the grid, and considering two of those on the grid are in Red, and one in red is one of the most popular drivers, for Hamilton to achieve 15 votes out of 90 is quite impressive, it truly speaks to his greatness.

 

I think we should have a poll which is the current favorite driver out of all current driver.

 

Surprising if you don't take into account that it's unlikely more than eight of the drivers have any real following at all, and of those, only a few are deemed at the top of the sport. The question the poll was raising was in reply to the various Elton fans claims that he was the most popular driver amongst those in the FChat F1 forum, which clearly the poll demonstrated that he isn't. Spinning the arguments is the speciality of some people that are not with us at present as a direct result of their inability to accept the difference of opinions that exists and their propensity to attack anyone who won't be battered into submission. The poll is the poll, you can't try to infer any answers other than the exact one asked.

Even a poll to see who the most popular driver is would not be conclusive now, given the way it would be re-interpreted under those terms.

It never ceases to amaze me that those flying the flag for Elton expect a Ferrari-biased forum to somehow swear allegiance to him, when he has never driven for Ferrari, and likely never will. I'm sure a Mercedes forum, or even a McLaren forum, would be a much more accepting group for the ideas held. Although most here, and believe it or not, even myself, are able to put loyalties aside and agree with assertions that Elton is a quick driver, and one of the better ones at the moment, we are not going to be the target audience for any Elton biased catawalling.

 

A public poll is really, really, meaningless - there's a really good reason why most polls are anonymous - because people don't want to be abused because of their voting choice (either way).

Why not do another poll, "do you hate Lewis Hamilton?" It would be interesting to see how many of the obvious Hamilton haters here would continue to pretend "Oh no, I don't hate him, he's just not my favourite"

Then again, it might be more interesting to see just how many here will happily admit to hating Hamilton!

I offered my comment about the poll, but I deliberately didn't vote. I refuse to join in the Hamilton mania around here, and I'm not going to contribute further to it. Some people feel joy that a couple of members received bans for their comments recently, because those members were avowed Hamilton fans - but I think the Hamilton haters are just as bad, but a bit better at choosing their words more carefully to just avoid receiving bans themselves. The atmosphere here isn't any better for those bans, IMHO, since the anti-Hamilton vitriol hasn't changed.

I'm more impressed by what looks like a first class seat/cube/cabin. What a way to travel. Then again these guys too have to sit there for all those hours to get back home.

Lewis Hamilton is Lewis Hamilton's favorite driver. "Acting" humble isn't the same thing as humility. I wonder how long it took in this cabin for him to pose for his personal photographer. What a ham.
