1) Sebastian Vettel: He drives for Ferrari and gets results.
2) Kimi Räikkönen: He drives for Ferrari and still has that "couldn't give a s:censored:t!" attitude.

The rest don't drive for Ferrari so are of no interest whatsoever!


However, if I had to have a third driver then I'd go with Carmen Jordá (if only she'd let Me! ):

Whoever is #1 at Ferrari always has an excellent chance of being #1 in my book. I support the team first. But they almost always choose great #1s, so no worries.

 

At the moment, my 3 favourite drivers are:

- Nico Rosberg, a fast, nice, clean cut German driver. The image of the perfect driver in my book.

- Daniel Ricciardo, a fast, enthusiastic, always smiling Australian who deserves a good drive.

- Sergio Perez, Viva Mexico ! I like Mexixan drivers since the Rodriguez brothers.


All of my choice based on purely subjective criteria, regardless of stats.

 

Wow vettel doing good so far, wouldn't have been the same last (few) years I reckon

 

Foe me it's kimi Vettel and max.

Kimi; just the coolest character around. Shame about his relative speed and consistency really.

Vettel I've supported since toro rosso days. Nice kid, bloody quick, funny... The New Schumacher imo.


Max is massively entertaining to watch. Bright and seriously quick so far. Doing all the right things including making mistakes.

 

well it is Ferrarichat. I still think he's a crybaby and a primadonna, but it seems you have to be to be a success in F1.

 

True. Though imo alonso and Hamilton beat him on whingeability

 

Does Alonso whinge?? My god he put up with Ferrari for a long time before showing signs of being over it. I can't imagine Vettel or Hamilton would have had that patience.

 

Seb, Kimi, Ricci-ironically the podium finishers yesterday.

 

Alonso would have been in Seb's position last year and Seb would have been with Ham, Button, etc. Driving for Ferrari is the key requirement...and that's fair given this is a Ferrrai site. All of the battles over the "Anti-Hamilton" posts are so unfortunate to me: the stuff being said about him is the same stuff that was said about Vettel, Alonso and other Ferrari foils in the past (except those guys didn't have a public life to attack as well). In perspective, threats to the Scuderia are summarily dismissed as not being the "real deal" and those accolades are saved for good drivers who won't win a WDC. Were Ricciardo to suddenly lead a RBR resurgence and snatch the WDC from Seb next season, he would be receiving more shade from the forum. If Seb suddenly left Ferrari for Mercedes to make a super-team with Ham, he would lose popularity.

For the pro-Hamilton crowd, take the "hate" as validation of his abilities. In the ten years I've been on F-Chat, it's a hate that's only reserved for the top threats to Ferrari wins. I thought the battles were entertaining initially, and then it became personal. Take Hamilton banter out of the mix and there isn't as much to talk about unless Ferrari is winning. Hopefully we can all get back to a point where we see this as sport and not become so divided over a single, non-Ferrari driver.

 

Big fan of Kimi, I must say.

Don't mind the rest of the field apart from Maldonado.

 

Do you think that there are really so many F-Chaters around that "hate" Hamilton? I would say there are far more "hating" his fanboys rather than him in person.
And as you refered to Vettel: I do not remember that there were ever as many pro-Vettel guys around telling everyone on every occasion that he is the greatest of all time. I think all this mess here is not coming from the "anti-Hamilton" side but basically from the "pro-Hamilton" brigade, until they joined the forum in numbers to convince us Hamilton was never a big theme although I doubt that he changed much since these days...

 

Perhaps the UK is short on heroes.

Of course Hami lives in Swtzerland now...tax haven. So his British fans are more loyal to him than he is to his homeland. To each his own.

 

And once we get one, we take great delight in dragging them down! I think we enjoy the "underdog" tag; Once you're on top, not so much.

Switzerland? I thought he was now domiciled in Monaco?

Along with JB, NR and a few others I believe. Michael moved to Switzerland for the same reasons; Given the opportunity, I know I would too! I'm not going to hold that against him.

This is a trait of the British mentality; we don't like hero worship, and we prefer to understate.

That's what makes us different from others who idolise success and often bragg.

 

I don't think the "hate" is real. Seb was hated before Ferrari and now he's everyone's favorite. Win a WDC on another team, chances are you wont be liked during that run. Hamilton is the villain right now...comes with the territory. Unfortunately, the staunch defense of him as a driver resulted in an unprecedented dynamic on the board.

Hamilton is not loved on a Ferrari board...is that something that's unexpected? I "hated" Schu at Benneton, Alonso at Renault, Vettel at Red Bull, Prost at McLaren all before they moved to Ferrari (okay, I still don't like Prost and Alonso grates), but you get the point. Very rarely do I like a WDC for another team (in my lifetime, there have only been four)

 

Alonso is my favorite. And I have warmed to Vettel since he drives for the good team.

Others I like/root for:

-Jenson
-Ricciardo
-Massa
-I am starting to become a fan of Max verstappen
