better suited for a Miura, those angles don't sit too well in orange
. Joe orange lp400s are all close to my heart please tell me more about this car is it the Silvera car pre correction or another one in US?
Stephen, it is indeed another, here is the Silvera car (0056) from when we owned it, and you'll note that it is more of a blood-orange than your car. Having owned black, yellow, orange & red LP400 over the years, I agree with you that orange is a truly sublime color for the car, highlighting its lines and accentuating all its angles. Sorry Joe i wasn't thinking, the Netherlands/ Ville d'este car is blood orange and i know u helped a lot to make this car as special as it is now , so this would be the ex simon kidson car with the blue interior and ex Festival of Speed display car that was refurbished in Paris and I have sat in!? And sold at auction in USA. If so it is the first lp400 i saw after owning my car for many years and it was quiet an occasion for me, and as it happened, unexpected, and i must have spent hours going round and round it . You are fortunate to have owned so many cars and LP400s in particular. I have a large motoring library with an emphasis on Lamborghini, Ferrari , Jag and Rolls but also collect any old or obscure interesting books ( just got the story of the Cobra which is a wonderful read) and Mel Nichols book for obvious reasons and of course the Miura bible and u are ideally placed to bring out a Countach book and please do include my car! Oh , and thanks for posting the pics.
Correct, that's the one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is this orange pearl? Anyway , the Countach is a car wich is not sensitive to colors based on angles lights and so on, its pure outrages design kills bad colors, however,it is a period correct type of car, 70s , non metallic fits the lp 400, (think muscle car)yellow green orange bla bla, the flared cars accepts the metallics / pearls better, blue , pearl white ,silver, charcoal, even candy red ,the perlato on the anni, MHO all good
Very nice on the Gallardo, my 01Diablo was Atlas orange , wich was a white base with tränsparent orängē topcoat, (very hard to match, had my guy fix the front bumper ) noticed when the Gallardo came around in 03-04 its orange was called i think Borealis, wich was a plain base orange metallic with clear topĉoat, The Murcielago was offered ẃith the true Atlas fom the Diablo, probäbly based on the cost target the Gallardo had to meet,We painted several big catamaräns in the Atlas color, very nice, but noticed lots of péople actually did not know there was in fact two differént colors, i saw a couple of paint jobs where the ovner just requested Lambo oränge, and ended up getting the cheaper version, wich next to Atlas looks very very Bla,
hello everybody ! do you know how i could get in touch with the owner of ELA12740 thanks in advance. was this car sold by Joe earlier ?
Pics are amazing and so is the car, and thank you Joe but strangely I don't remember them in classic and sports car and I never miss an issue but then I have a memory like a sieve. But can I bother your encyclopedic brain once more and ask about orange lp400's. Mine and Netherlands/Silvera and this stunning one in the US and then Richard in London and and Japan? Australia?

The right front indicator seem to be different on the pictures. Were they taken at a different period of time? Beautiful anyway!
Stephen, I'm not in a place where I can check the whole list, but, 2 cars that come to mind immediately are the lovely and still-original 1120186 in Japan, and of course, the RHD 1120106 owned by Richard E in the UK. Here below are pics of 1120106 of Richard's car when new in early 1976 being tested by Valentino Balboni. He took CAR magazine's Doug Blain along for the ride on the roads in the hills around Sant Agata stopping in one of the quaint towns to allow everyone from Carabinieri to school-kids to admire the car. Since you are in the UK, you really must see Richard's car, and if you like I'll put you two in touch. FWIW he also has a 25th Anniversario ordered in the same colors, Arancio/Senape. You are very welcome, I was very happy with the finished product , and even happier that the publisher followed my strict title parameters! Ferraristi have made it a top seller The Book of the Ferrari 288 GTO ? Joe Sackey | Joe Sackey Classics Countach book next one day, I think.
countach is my next step.... i am actually looking for a car . do you think i could get something correct for 400000 dollars ? you must do a book on the countach !!!! Good job ! can' t wait....
Correct, it had German-installed spacers which Dave & I discussed at one point, and I believe he has now removed.
A fairly extensive website on my black/gold Countach may be found at 1979 Lamborghini LP400S Countach I have had the car over 21 years and I have made many upgrades over the years, all while keeping it in original specs. The photos are not always sequential, making it hard to tell its present condition/status. For example, I removed the front wheel spacers several years ago. The car will be repainted back to its original color, Blu Acapulco, this fall. Photos of the refreshed engine bay are yet to be posted. Sorry, but the car is a bit of a moving target. The site is meant for a wider audience than just us rabid Countach people. It tries to inform but I am aware of a few errors (that some day I will attend to). Sorry that the photos are hardly in the high standard set by Joe -- in my defense, not only am I not a good photographer but my camera cost $90 several years ago. Enjoy David Anderson Colorado
