    law,
Have patience, and do a LOT of reading. There are a bunch of Spiders in SoCal. There is 'almost' always a reason for the low asking prices.

And frequently no reason for a high ask. Due diligence.

I did my best to outline every single possible reason I was asking $44k for my car yet still couldn't manage to sell it, since in the end people don't want to have to spend time fixing up the car and dropping $15k on it. Can't blame them, much easier to just buy a nice $65k+ F355 and drive it right away.

What's the story on the two yellow 20k something mile GTS's on Ebay that could probably be had for $60k or less?

Robb, From what you are saying You feel that Coupes are worth or are going for like 40% more compared to a Spider...From my Collection was that they were going up because there were few on the market, but now not the case. Coupes were 120k new, So they are going for close to that with with 20k...But a spider which was 130k is worth about 50% less than MSRP was..At the price difference you could almost by a couple of Spiders for the price of One Coupe..Spiders for most of the 355s life were going for more than the coupes...Makes no logic at all

I know an owner here paid for a ppi on the car at sports car company. The inspecting mechanic advised him to stop and get his money back as soon as it got on a lift. I'm also pretty sure that it was in a front end accident.

That looks like a really nice car you have !!.. I"m sure you will have no trouble selling it, but parting with it??..I like the 458s myself especially with some of the prices on 355s is making 458s too me seem more attractive everyday!, but I still don"t want to (can't) part with my 355

    Tim,

From the photo, your yellow looks like its a bit lighter than mine. Out of curiosity, what does your paint sticker say, Giallo Modena Fer 102? That's what mine says.

    Steve,
Remember the 300SLs. For many years, the Gull wings were 'worth' multiples of the roadsters. It took a while for the roadsters to get back in the ballpark, but they did. I bought my Spider for "sunny Sunday afternoon drives" and rallies. There is no way I would exchange it for a Berlinetta - even if that car is stiffer & marginally better looking.

Same with the 355. Spider, top up or down, looks more aggressive, i.e. better.
