Don't worry Leo, you are not alone in your confusion! Perhaps its because, when SV 4968 was restored, its color was changed from its original "Rosso" color. One thing I am not confused about: that's me behind the wheel @ 11 years ago when it was in my possession. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another period picture with "the 2 prominent mirrors" with italian export plates. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I must be the only one here that likes those "prominent mirrors", especially mounted in that position. I think they certainly look better than the wider black and (deep breath) flag styles you see occasionally on Miuras. Come to think of it, I don't really like flag style mirrors on Countachs either.
Italian export plates and lhd cars maybe but that pic was taken outside the Royal Greenwich Observatory in London!
Excellent ! Are there any pictures available of the London Motor Show of that time ? Carissimi saluti Ben Image Unavailable, Please Login
I personally have nothing against these period "prominent mirrors". I remember we called them "sport mirrors" way back then. Actually they were quite popular. Can we imagine the * Miura from the Factory Video to be the same car as the * Miura from the Factory Media Picture both showing the "prominent mirrors" on the front fenders, colour could match ? please notice the number plate mounted on the lefthandside on the cars on both pictures. Any idea how many P400N 1966 to 1968 did have the number plate mounted on the lefthandside ? Carissimi saluti Ben
Ben I believe this Miura is the same P400 used by UK pop star Sandie Shaw. If you'll notice, the front plate ends in "452.EE", and the car Sandie is lying on has the plate affixed inside the windscreen and it too ends in "452.EE". Also lime green with chrome mirrors. What are the chances? Image Unavailable, Please Login
George Drummond also had a P400 with chrome mirrors, but I can't tell you what color this one was. Incidentally, he knew Sandie Shaw, small world. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hard to say what color the Miura P400 Sandie used for her album, but here it is Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, imho Sandie aehm Miura looks promissing: nice legs on the front fender, i would say well used fender. The complete italian export plate reads 02452*EE Carissimi saluti Ben Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just like in the other picture (in color) posted above Which is actually taken at the same time, you can see the shoes and dress match !
Agreed. Add to that, the car at Sant Agata has silver sills, the car at the Royal Greenwich Observatory in London (Sandie Shaw's car) has black sills.
Both cars seem to be slightly different regarding the color of the sills and the position of the fender mirrors, both sharing the green color and the "unusual" place for the plate. Carissimi saluti Ben
