Are there any US based members who have spec'd cars? I heard an unusual story today - but want to check my facts first

We are going to factory Nov 2nd, but we did attend the preview in California and went over the car closely (as did quite a few others).

Curious to what you are hearing.

Fact checking to verify a rumor is correct before spreading possible false information? Who is this guy??? Have not heard of a soul doing this ancient ethic exercise in a very long time :)

Well I heard something today to the extent the car would not be homologated for the US market. Which did sound strange to me. So I wanted to check if any US buyers had spec'd cars already.

That seems so unlikely I'd go so far as to say thats impossible- but I guess one never knows for sure.

Heh. I have not heard that bit of news :p I think you can apply the 'extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence' principle here...

I'd be extremely surprised if the car wasn't homologated for the US market, considering the size of the US market and the seemingly large demand for special edition "limited run" cars. I do hope that this time the US market can get the proper racing seats which were denied to them when the 599 GTO was launched.

Spoke to my dealer in the US that asked me about a month ago if I was interested in the F12 VS or whatever it will be called and I was put on the list to be sent to Ferrari.

As of yesterday they have heard nothing!! They have sold 4 LaFerrari's and numerous other one off Ferrari's to customers.

Anybody in the US has gotten a "yes" response from their dealer? Maybe my dealer will get zero allocations but would seem odd.

it's likely that if you haven't been invited to spec one as of now then you're not going to get one

I don't think all the US clients have been selected but I know some have.

That is great to hear regarding the Argento. I would guess at least a dozen national VS models coming here so maybe there will be one of those special F12 models in your future to?

Thanks for pointing that out, concerning the seats. I started a thread to ask why, asked numerous people, nobody could tell my why the hell those seats, allowed on the Scud, the 458 and the F12 were denied on the car wich need them the most.

    Freakin' politicians.

Thanks! I'm really hoping so, dealer sent in my name for an allocation but usually Canada is one of the last to hear. But still hopeful!

I think the US GTOs not getting the racing seats had something to do with the way the airbags function in relationship to US requirements. I think this time we should get them because the standard car has them. And I agree- the racing seats make all the difference.

A brief reaction after a brilliant day at the factory.

WOW is all I can say. To my eye, once you appreciate the new design direction taken by Ferrari, this car knocks it out the park. Muscular, haunchy, brutal even and once you have seen the car,, if you know your history, the name becomes obvious.

There is no comparison between what they did to turn a 458 into a Speciale and the F12 into this, none. This was a truly major engineering effort.

For those not lucky enough to see the car yet, you don't have long to wait.
