Evidently, the new NASCAR rules (which they said at the beginning of the season were set in stone) didn't work out again at Michigan which sounds as though was another epic borefest. The drivers don't dare speak out for fear of points, fines and other penalties (READ: extra ballast), the team owners don't weigh in either. Everyone is so afraid of the 900lb gorilla. This is what their virtual monopoly does to racing. Interesting article on Motorsport.com... Own your rules package, NASCAR | NASCAR Sprint Cup news | Motorsport.com BHW
Its amazing how habitual it is for some of these guys to look over their shoulder for recording devices/people before answering a question about the plate tracks with an honest answer.
I love watching the taxicabs at Road America. To bad JV isn't there. Wouldn't mind seeing Regan Smith shunted off after that Mid Ohio bull****.....

Just read Danica Patrick crashed out of the race twice. That's got to be some sort of record. Again, NASCAR will let a car back into a race after crashing heavily like mobile chicanes with body work missing, parts falling off, causing more incidents and that's okay. But one guy goes out with his spoiler 1/1,000th of a centimeter too high, that's a finin, suspendin, points deductin and crew chief bannin. Some mentality. Contrived "parity" makes for great racing doesn't it? The question really boils down to one thing......how stupid is the viewer is to watch this crap? We just had one "crapfest" end, but you get to watch another until November. Are people really this interested in mediocre driving, dated equipment and excessive budget racing that they can't turn the TV off? Inquirying minds want to know !!! This statement brought to you by Depends Undergarments. Where getting a crapload is a daily thing !!
Last night's race was arguably the best of the season. The low down force package puts the driver back in the equation. Brad was a stud hanging the tail out at every corner exit. It was actually exciting!! The race package and pace was simply too much for the psp however. She was way in over her head and she was exposed both in qualifying and race. # joke.
Took a poke around jayski to look at the standings. Danica is beating Tony Stewart by over 30 points? Tony is only 80 points up from Kyle Busch, who has missed, what, 11 races? Is he still struggling with his leg injury, infection? Unable to get in physical shape again? Last time he was in the lows, he had come back by this point, and went on to win the championship. What if Jeff doesn't make it, will NASCAR re-write the chase after Richmond? He's on a bubble yet again.... 4 or 5 spots will get in on points, Jeff is #3 in that slot right now. I actually enjoyed the team politics, trying to work on getting your teammate in. This win your in format means only a small amount of spots depend on a good points season. I thought the top 10 in points, 2 get in with wins or points was a great format. Points were crucial, and wins were not to be dismissed. I only followed NASCAR after the chase was inititiated. Of the three chase formats, the previous has been my favourite if NASCAR hadn't muddied it up with a 13 car chase. Going to Darlington, it doesn't show on TV, but in person, you really feel just how old the place it. It hits you with a sense that I can't really put into words. When I went to Daytona, it felt like its history didn't go back past twenty years ago. Darlington has managed to keep a feel to the place that made me think I took a step into a time machine to an era before I was born. Didn't matter modern cars were on the track racing. It had history in the air, and each new race or qualifying round seemed to be a part of it.
So, I'm reading about today's NASCAR activities at "Chicagoland" and, admittedly, I had two glasses of Cabernet with dinner this evening. It seems Denny Hamilin won despite spinning in the first lap (been done before, Google "Danny Sullivan Spin & Win") but what is more interesting is the "Chase" points race. So, dear NASCAR apologists and keepers of the vault deep in the fake wood paneled walls in Daytonner, how is it that Matt Kenseth leads the "Chase" points despite finishing fifth today, hmmmmm? Can't wait to hear this convoluted explanation. Chicagoland NASCAR: Denny Hamlin wins for Joe Gibbs despite spin - NASCAR news - AUTOSPORT.com BHW
I would also like to hear this...since we have been told winners are rewarded in nascrap. so is harvick out?
i honestly have no idea how the Chase is structured/formulated any more, and don't care enough to look it up. I suspect I'm not the only one who feels that way...
I know how it works, but knowing, just makes me also not care. They had a great format with the 10+2. Too many sponsors to satisfy brought us this silly 16 with a few also rans getting eliminated in short order.
The drama continues ..... Tony Stewart announces he is done AFTER the 2016 season ? His spokesperson says he can't focus on driving while the lawsuit from the dirt track incident is hanging over his head ??? Thinking in 14 months the lawsuit may be over with, and if that was the real reason he would quit after this year (2015) ?
It baffles me that Harvick and Busch are front runners and that Tony (the boss) is always hanging out in the back with Danica. Talk about a wreck waiting to happen ..... every week
Tony is 44, has done everything and won damn near everything in the sport, has a ton of $$$ and a great team...I'd hang it up if I were him. I would say it probably has more to do with the sprint car crash/broken leg in 2013 than the incident with Kevin Ward (he hasn't won a race since he broke his leg)
