GTO is not a racing name, actually the contrary. It represents the homologated (for road use) of a non - homologated car ( i.e. A track / racing car)

Any name is possible and it is my understanding that no name has yet been chosen!

If it were up to me, "Squalo" would suit. A name from the 50s that would work given the car's shark like front..... But I wouldn't discount a name like "Daytona" which has risen to fame on the 365 GTB/4 even though it was never official and celebrated an incredible victory. Given the importance of the U.S. Market..why not?!?!

    Just speculation, though :)

When you see the car you will understand. Trust me this is a major change as I think anyone who has seen it will agree. By the way, no way whatsoever will it be GTO, zero. None.

From what I learnt at the factory this week, I understood the name definitely has been chosen, indeed it has been passed down to senior relevant heads of departments.

I think it's sort of formally accepted now that the car will be launched there alongside an Internet reveal, or that is what I understood.

Still appears to be no price for the car, and yet I now have a contract for my options all neatly priced.

Thank you for the inside information!

Only Ferrari can sell out a car and have a waiting list and never even say how much it will cost. Pretty amazing if you think about it. I hope to see someone spec their VS in Rosso Dino and Russo Fuoco. Lord knows I would love to be on the list.

But is it? Is there any evidence of a genuine quoted RRP as all figures quoted appear to be very approximate, such as 'less than 400,000 italian(I assume euros)?

Thanks but I still would like a firm and accurate exact retail base price which I keep on hearing is around 400k euros and your post confirms but as far as I know the exact number still does not exist. In the UK, current best guess from FNE is £325/375k, but it is apparently exactly that, a guess.

Bad news (at least for me) : HELE is standard feature for the F12LE in France.

Has anyone any experience with this option : can it be switched off for good or should the driver switch it off everytime he starts up the car?

Any comment on this would be welcome!

Thanks Jacques-that suggest Ferrari will have a hard time at the £325/375k level if they are not to flout euro law, even at their 1.25 exchange rate. I make it a UK tax paid price of £310k approx.

As I understand it, HELE is pretty standard for their emissions numbers but it annoys me you have to have the adaptive front lights when you order the lifter.

I have adaptive lights on my 458SA and it's quite nice on twisty roads at night. Anyway, carbon front splitter and rear part make lifter+front & rear cameras are absolutely necessary on this car!

My 599 GTO new had a base of 300K GBP (330K with extras). This was late 2010. I can't see Ferrari base pricing the VS in 2016 near c 310K GBP. I wouldn't be surprised at a base of c 350K GBP quickly rising to high 3s with must-have options.

I agree, but how do they justify that now we know the euro price? I thought LHD or RHD they had to be the same, by law?

I really hate these start/stop systems. I don't have experience with Ferrari's HELE but with other marques its possible to either reprogram or disable the system. Typically one has to complain to the dealer, the dealer logs customer complaint that the vehicle "dies" at a stop light. They then recommend reprogramming or disabling the system... This is just the game we have to play these days and I suspect this will get worse....
