Already mentioned. Didn't last long either. The link was a few posts above. https://auctionata.com/o/145950/1991-ferrari-mondial-t Does anyone actually read threads before they post anymore? ;D
Perhaps, but last posted info was sale pending. Not exactly a done deal, unless you know otherwise. Wouldn't be the first time a deal fell through. Seen a few lately.
Here is what manheim has to say about our values for spiders 95 and 99 respectively. What do you think? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know. Still is a different web page. On a mobile device sometimes a person can't research every third party link
Let's not forget that Manheim sells a large percentage of cars that dealers can't get rid of by other means. My guess is that 98% of the Ferraris that sell there have no histories attached, and to offset that, they probably have a number of issues.
Well, I don't think auction cars are necessarily any worse that any other cars. I've owned a few, including my 355. And I can tell you after looking for 3 years I saw a lot of "private" cars that didn't hold a candle to the car I bought, cosmetically or mechanically.
I disagree. A lot of cars auctioned off are just cars that the dealer doesn't specialize in so they take it to auction. No one wants to buy a Ferrari sitting at a Toyota dealership.
The notion that if a car is sold at auction it must be crap is absurd.I'm a dealer at manheim pa every week , so I can say this with 16 years of experience.
Looks like intrepidcva's Blue Scuro Micalizzato GTB sold 1995 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta 2dr Coupe West Chicago, Illinois | CMC-East Love that blue
Maybe, maybe not. Last time it was reported as being sold it was nothing more than a dealer swap between Exotic Motors and Chicago Motor Cars. Not unusual for a dealer to list a car as sold regardless of who or how they sold it. It looks good to list it as sold, no? And, not to belabor the point, but Sold doesn't say anything about for how much. So, not longer at the dealer but who bought it and for how much remains a question. If you really want to follow up, record the vin and in a couple of months run a Carfax and see is a new registration is reported. That would indicate it probably wasn't a dealer swap.
Yes yes... the usual disclaimer about what "sold" could mean applies. Just thought it was a piece of information that might be pertinent to the thread, but perhaps not.
If that car doesn't sell within 3 weeks from today, can we agree to close this thread completely? Time for the 355 promoters to put up or shut up. Time also for the 355 detractors to be fair and watch carefully. I am serious about closing this thread. No point in having it if it is promoting falsehood. If it's promoting truth, we will proliferate the truth with trumpets if a car like this sells quickly. [Naturally, I am assuming this car is an excellent example, 9/10.]
Dave, The thread is here to help buyers find cars for sale in one location and discuss any items members see needing attention. I probably need to review my opening post. The intent is not to debate the pricing ups and downs ad nauseum as a daily stock market - or beating a dead horse. Most of the members on F-chat know where individuals stand on their ideas on pricing or what consists of "the perfect car." People PM others when they get really serious on a purchase. Help is there for the group. Unfortunately, there is no one correct answer on "valuing" a car. It obviously depends on many factors specific to those involved in the conversation. Assigning a value or trend should be fair game (although not an occupation) when trying to gauge what needs to be restored or fixed - and how that factors into purchase prices - because the whole point of the thread is helping new F-chat members find and buy good cars and balance their checkbook with "likely" future expenses. Please start a 348 market thread so the group can add good cars they find in your wheelhouse. Most F355 owners also like 348's a lot. Prices are going up on that model also significantly. Hopefully positive info can also occur there with locating nice examples of 348's for buyers. This isn't an F355 thing... Some people get bored with major service questions, some with pricing questions. There are a lot of threads for members to read, post, and PM on every topic imaginable here. Until cars are listed with public record like real estate, all of this value discussion is speculative. But people don't discount Joe Sackey when he discusses where he sees values going with other models. Many members here have close ties to dealers and have helped others sell cars off the books. This group will not single handedly push prices higher or lower with what is discussed here. Buyers and sellers together figure out where prices go. I'll repeat that my intent for this thread. List links to good candidate cars for purchase. And discuss. Leave the weapons at the door. Enjoy our cars. And to get back on topic. That black '95 looks great - at $65k or $105k. Up to you what to pay and up to the seller to figure out the secret of life. Have a great day. I am working on my challenge car today. Lower tempatures are coming Monday for AZ so we can't wait to enjoy driving a lot. Best. Robb
Robb, not offence but the thread seems to have become a GTB/S OMG look how much they are selling for thread, in particular with regards to 1995s. Even your first post mentions only GTB and GTS, despite your statement that all models should be considered. And you clearly state tracking asking prices. Not a lot of love for spiders. But a simple check on Cars.com shows 5 red 1995 GTBs for sale while only 2 red 1995 spiders. Ain't that a flip. Dem 95 spiders be rare birds these days. Get them while there are cheap! One listed for $79k and the other for $64k. There is also a red 96 with 12k miles for $90k. Oh, and a blue 95 with 40k miles for a mere $59k. Of course it's has accident damage and mileage inconsistences on the carfax. Maybe we need to start talking up the spiders.
