    Ciao Tutti,

What would be the process of replacing the steering shaft coupler??

My first assessment, was to unbolt the steering box, uncouple its steering arm, then move the whole box forward, so to move the steering shaft forward to create enough space to remove the old shaft coupler and replace it with a new one...

You should not have to touch the steering box. Unbolt the coupler and then gently pull the steering wheel. You probably have to unbolt the turn signal assembly, which comes out very easily, to not risk damaging the self canceling levers.

Let us know if this works.

A big Thanks Ivan!! Yes this sounds much simpler...

By the turn signal assembly, you mean removing the T-sign column switch with its lever ?

Many Thanks for your precious help!

The turn signal has a large nut that holds the assembly to the steering column. Just unscrew this nut with your hands and separate the assembly from the column so that the canceling levers do not get damaged as you move the shaft. No need to disconnect any electrical wires.

    Hi Ivan,

Is this the large nut you're talking about? Sorry, just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing...

    Many Thanks
