If you clean the seat you will be amazed how good it still is. however the dash needs to be done, but this is an issue with Mondials that have a leather dash. When it gets wet/moist it tends shrinks and then it tears apart.

With a bit of TLC I think it gets sold for this money. Add some (arm)wipers, faster the engine bonnet, get a air filter cover and put the alternator back on its original place. I think people are afraid to buy this one the way it looks. lower it to 10k and maybe you will find a new owner.

Yeah, this car has been up for sale by them for many years and now it's finally sold. Just a question of patience. She's almost as beautiful as mine ;-)

My interior wasn't quite this rough, but close to it. My dash was in great shape (the black protion), didn't have to do any thing to it. But it took 6+ weeks to prepare the seats, doors and tan part of dash for a re-dye. They can be brought back to life with a lot of hard work and oh yes money. I was surprised at how clean the engine bay is. And what is up with the rivets on the rear bumper? I thought my front hood louvers were chipped, now I feel better after seeing this.

    ;)

We have a word for it "autoverkrachting" and it's not in the dictionaries. I guess it is a 3 word expression in English.. Car Ra pe! or was it a 2 word expression? :) but for 8k I would not mind having it as a Daily Driver.

I would not touch that Beverly Hills car with a barge pole, not at half the money, unless you just want to part it out. Rust showing in a lot of places proves this is not a CA car. The registration plate in the photos is just a trick. It was left outside because at some point it was deemed unecomic to repair. Now that prices have come up a bit, it looks like someone patched it up and put it up for sale. It's a Mondial 8, another reason not to touch it. The al rivets on the rear bumper are there because the original factory rivets corroded away.

Not for any hope of eventual monetary gain. Mostly because my son and I are car DIYers (mostly him), and would enjoy bringing her back.

We've taken on other, worse projects (no Ferraris), and have enjoyed (still enjoying) them.

You have to give the Beverly Hills dealer credit for showing all the flaws and not hiding them. But jeez, two lug nuts holding 2 of the wheels on, 3 different kinds of tires on it, and the interior does look like it was dragged out of the river. Only thing it looks like it has going for it is that people seem to want those coupes... But if the exterior/interior has been that neglected how about the mechanical's?

"REQUIRES FULL RESTORATION OR FERRARI 308 BASED RE-BODY"

That's a dreamer's sales pitch to the extreme. Granted, the Mondial's wheelbase is closer to the 288GTO than the 308, but imagine the costs?

Even wheeler dealers will not touch it I guess! I think this one is a good example of going for a more expensive one unless you are a welder or will use it on the track.

US Mondial Market is very low in comparison with European market. In France a Mondial T was recently sold for 89 000 euros (100 000 $). And prices of all Ferrari Mondial have doubled over the last six months.
As a result, some companies are trying to import Mondial from the US to Europe. Ferrari market is worldwide, and I think that the prices of American Mondial will soon rise as much as they did in Europ.

I've been following the European market for ages now and have my serious doubts about the evolution of values. About 75% of all Ferrari's are put on sale by dealers whereas 3 years ago, 75% were privately owned. On many occasions I've seen dealers withdrawing cars from the market and some months later, testing higher price grounds. Personally, I don't think that there are many people also buying. There's a serious bubble in prices in Europe, chances are this will burst in January next year.

These are exceptions. A regular T goes between 40 and 60k euros with between 20 to 40K kilometers on the odo in Europe.

And if you were to sell, what will you buy back if you want to have different horse. You will need to touch your savings ;)

I may hope that it the case. The only reasonable prices are when you go to the dealer. Here they have very nice examples for at least a price that is lower of 25%. I don't understand why one would buy a Testa for 160K while you can get it for 130K at the dealer with warranty and certified. ..and if it is not the color you want they will make it your color :)

    The ad says "sale pending"...

Here's a different link with more photos (previous ebay ad?).

15K miles doesn't seem right based on the driver's seat and torn rear window.
