My dad likes the EPL but I just cannot get into it - and not for lack of trying. For every moment of sporting brilliance, there are 20 moments of diving, playing hurt, and waving hands around in the air at the referee. I don't even watch the Euro or World Cup games any more, but used to enjoy seeing countries play. All the best, Andrew.
They can continue to talk to Mercedes until the sustained effort steals them away to an early grave, but I don't think it'll get them anywhere. Red Bull's aero development is so strong that they might well take titles off the works team if they had the same engine. Lots of risk for very little gain from Mercedes' perspective and they aren't going to share/relinquish their sporting advantage to another big budget team like Red Bull. All the best, Andrew.
The biggest reason - is RBR want an alpha status, and have made it known. If Mercedes gives them engines, whoever RBR goes to after Mercedes, RBR will be privy to the workings of the Mercedes engine, and perhaps fuel. The same situation is true of Ferrari. RBR can at best, get an old spec from Ferrari, Renault, or Mercedes. I think Honda/Mclaren have an exclusive going on. It would be interesting to see just what Red Bull would do with its F1 personal if it pulled out. Without the restrictions of F1, they could probably make something pretty amazing.
Having experienced a perfect rig I am convinced that the dynamic sims are the way to go. In fact shortly thereafter I dismantled my static one and gave it away. The real issue is more whether your fav racing game is fully supported by the sims mechanics or not. Therein lies the difference of the experience
Well, well, well! (From: Mercedes 'excited' by prospect of three-car Formula 1 teams - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com ) : Mercedes 'excited' by prospect of three-car Formula 1 teams Mercedes chief Toto Wolff likes the idea of introducing third cars but would prefer it to boost rather than maintain the size of the Formula 1 grid. Dietrich Mateschitz is considering pulling Red Bull and Toro Rosso out of F1 as the two outfits battle to agree an engine supply for 2016 after cutting ties with Renault. Ferrari appears to be Red Bull's only option to continue in F1 next season as Mercedes has decided against offering it power. Should Red Bull and Toro Rosso leave the championship, the field would drop to 18 in 2016 with Haas joining next term. Wolff said third cars, with younger drivers, would be the solution to ensure the grid was full but hopes F1 will not lose any teams. "If a team would leave, and we've had the discussion about Lotus a while ago, then third cars are the solution to fill up the grid," said Wolff. "For me personally it is a pretty exciting idea. "I'd rather have Red Bull in the sport and third cars and a grid of 27-28 cars, and some exciting young drivers in those third cars. "But this is definitely one of the fallback solutions. Priority number one is to keep them in the sport." Wolff said that while he sympathised with Red Bull's engine predicament, Mercedes' own performance has to be its priority. "You can't close your eyes to the fact that this is a platform, and it needs players and it needs a competitive environment," he said. "It needs competitive teams, and that was part of our consideration. "Red Bull is a hip brand and it is good for Formula 1. "But then it is also an environment when you need to look at yourself and the team's performance with a priority. "So when it comes to the decision you can go with the platform of a good sport, or from your team's perspective. "From our point of view it is clear you need to prioritise your own competitiveness." I suspect Ferrari would also be quite open to running a three car team as well!
Nothing you would ever consider perfect, that I am sure of. CXC And I'm not saying this because they were (are?) a FChat sponsor, but because I loved the immersion. CXC Simulations - Professional Racing Simulator & Flight Simulator for home use But since money is somewhat limited I'd settle for this: http://simxperience.com/en-us/products/motionsimulatorkits/stage4motionsimulatorkit.aspx Stage 4 is good enough for me.
Red Bull set late October deadline for a decision on their F1 future | F1 News Not much time left....
Daniel Ricciardo's got faith still that they'll still be in F1 come 2016: Ricciardo expects Red Bull to stay - Formula 1 - Eurosport Australia (Or is it just wishful thinking?)
I'm pretty sure cooler heads will prevail and Toro Rosso gets the Ferrari engines and Red Bull the B spec Merc motors. Add to that Lotus saved by Renault and Haas added to the equation, and we got ourselves an even fuller grid next year. Yeeehaa!
I have hope, and also have no doubt that Red Bull via Dieter is not joking at all. He has zero to lose overall. Simply the cost of doing business.
I'm with you on this opinion Andreas that cooler heads will prevail in the end. The last thing F1 needs imo is a smaller field.
He has much to loose actually. Reputational damage to him and his brand for being a quitter/whiner and somebody who doesnt honor a valid contract
According to that the Ferrari deal is done... Exclusive: Red Bull and Toro Rosso turn to Ferrari for 2016 engines
99% of his drinkers don't watch F1. The damage would be minimal, if any. They also sponsor a ridiculous amount of other venues from boats, cars, snowboarders, surfers, airplanes, etc.
The contract has exits, it just cost $$$. Only if he didn't pay those $$$ would he not be honoring the contract. (See Ferrari giving Kimi the boot for Alonso.)
+2 However, while true, it may be worth noting again that F1's annual eyeballs remain the largest of all. I feel a lot of the other stuff he supports is just because it's cool & he can! Supports hundreds of youngsters across all kinds of (sometimes) crazy ****! Good for him! Cheers, Ian
I think these youngsters are his main clients...Red Bull is what it is today because they targeted exactly these sports, I guess snowboarder and skaters might be better advertisers for RB in the youth segment than any F1 driver.
Agreed. That's the "hot" market I guess - Big competition from Monster these days I think too. [Doesn't someone here work for Monster?] He also does the air races, and I'd guess that's a different demographic.... And the parachute record; Just a very cool project! No idea, but he seems like a "good guy" too. He'd be sorely missed from F1 IMO. Cheers, Ian
Overall RBR has been good for the sport and just like any other sport there will be front runners, middle runners and back runners. It is what it is and most of all I just want a full grid and competitive racing.
