I had a similar problem with my GTO. I ordered it in Fuoco with a Daytona stripe but received a Daytona roof instead. I only discovered the problem once the car was unveiled in the dealership in Malaysia ! I ended up sticking with the black roof but got my Fuoco paint for free

 

did you get it without the black roof?
i would wait another 6 months for the spec i specifically wanted when i made my final decision.

 

I say wait 6 more months and get the color you really want. You are a collector and not a flipper so 6 months is not that long in grander scheme of things especially when they are winter months. Also with the delay your car will most prob be the last LaF to leave the factory!

 

Did Ferrari mess up or did the dealer. Look at your spec sheet as confirmed by the dealer to the factory....

 

If you feel that a tear down and respray is more comfortable then you can get what you want exactly... If RC is acceptably beautiful enough, then stuff happens but you live with it with some kind of compensation... Allocation of FxxK? F12 VS or ??

Personally, I'd go with the second.

Wait 6 months. If that is the color you really want. This is a special car. It's your Laf. It's not like a 458 that you can buy in any color, anytime. Wait but make sure Ferrari knows they ****ed up and you are being a gentleman.

 

That looks like the Dealer's sheet and not the confirmation he should have gotten back from the factory.....On a Ferrari the dealer needs to be responsible for double checking and it looks like he did not. I insist on this process for all my cars and get a complete printed version back before giving my OK.

Sounds to me like the dealer messed up and is trying to pass the buck...literally!!

The factory and their subcontractors are currently experiencing massive problems with every color except standard rosso corsa. Especially on LaFerraris. The problem appears to be with Carrozzeria Zanasi, who, as you know, paints the LF's. This means that the cars completed first are the standard rosso corsa ones, and everything special or metallic has to wait and is postponed. Same story here in beautiful Switzerland, not just Germany. I know of four LF's in special colors that will come really really very late, while another standard red one that should have come very late, has already been delivered.

One thing I have learnt with endless 'errors' both on my cars and those of my friends is that the Factory never makes a mistake! Regardless, establishing blame doesn't exactly move the matter forward.

Personally, I much prefer NRF1 over RC and so would happily wait the 6 months, after all you will shortly have a VS to play with, but then you clearly were once happy at one stage with RC so maybe dont feel as strongly as I do. If you do, wait.

Either way you are a lucky man as you know.

marcel i hope i don't sound too pushy but i am curious if you would know if there would be a dark green lafe on its way?

that would complete the entire spectrum imo.

 

I share the same feelings.

 

Truly a first world problem but I'd certainly loose some sleep, were I in your feet. I would be more concerned about the respray itself and partial rebuild needed, all parts fitting correctly again which is hard, than the up to 6 months wait.

However I'd have strong feelings about my colour choice, I personally got bored of Rosso Corsa. But that's me.

Ultimately, the matt black wheels you chose couple maybe better with Rosso Corsa than RF12007... my opinion.
