Most people have no clue what these cars cost, and I've found that usually they think they are worth more than they really cost.. IE, a co-worker saw me in a 458 at Cars and Coffee, and he thought the car must be worth $700,000 or more.

And man, do I wish LaFerrari's were $250K!! Could you imagine?

That's because the 458 looks like it costs $700,000 or more :D

"Did she do any screaming later that night? "

HaHa, yes indeed!!! The same scenario happened about 4 years ago with a different gal.
so i have come to the conslusion, most women dont want anything to do with ferraris, until they go for a ride, and then the attitude changes...

The single most repeated comment on all exotics throughout the years has always been "so what do you do to afford something like that", said in a tone that makes one sound like an arms dealer...

Today pulled into a parking spot in the 328 in a downtown beach city and by chance a 458 in white is already parked on the left.

Threw some coins in the meter and walked up to Jamba Juice to pick up a drink before continuing my drive.

Normally I can pop in and right out and take off, but this time there was a line so I spent 15 min before acquiring my refreshment.

Coming out I saw two women posing in front of the red 328 and taking pics with a mom and kid to the side and a couple standing watching.

I motioned to the 458 and said that was the new ferrari and they should be taking pics in front of that. Deadpan stares.

Now to be fair mine was red and the top was down and the 458 was white and a coupe but they (everyone there) wouldn't even more than glance at it.

A few minutes later I am taking pictures of them seated in the driver's and passenger's seats (with their phone) in the car and then with the little girl who wanted to sit in it and apparently make sure the horn worked (8 or 9 times).

Again I point to the 458 saying this is the latest model(ok I fibbed a little)

"Oh do you own both of them?" One woman said.
(Images popped in my head of me driving down the street holding onto a steering wheel out the window as I jockeyed both cars down the road and into the parking spots)

    People........... :)

I have replied that I kill people for a living. It's not exactly untrue. I kill people in my books all the time.

I love that the 3x8 still commands attention - in this case, more so than the much newer model.

I think it is being red and a convertible that attracts the attention. As stated many times before here, most people don't know Ferrari years, models or prices. I bet if the 458 was a red spider with the top down, they would have been all over that car too.

Except one of the women guessed mine was an 1987 (2 years off) so she knew the time period.

But if the 458 was red and top down it may have been a totally different scenario.

I commented earlier in another thread about a white Alfa 4C I just saw. IMHO, the car rates a zero in that color, and while I don't normally like red cars, there are certainly colors that do or do not compliment certain cars.

I was at a local college bar where a bunch of religious people were trying to scare the college kids with their religious rhetoric.... save yourself for marriage...alcohol and drugs are from the devil blah blah blah... these religious individuals saw me pull up in my F430 and when I was about to walk in the door one of them stopped me and said "Go and burn rubber in your Ferrari, not your soul" .... LOL!

When people ask me how much it costs. LOL.

I just look at them and say "More than you'll ever be able to afford". If I feel like adding that extra "Punch", I'll state my income.

Nothing beats letting off quick rev to scare them back to their consumer car.

    How young are you?

Don't you have to at least finish public school before you get a full time job?

    Class act...

This is Ferrarichat. I think you'll need to look really hard to find people here, who would be considerably envious about your income, no matter whatever allowance your parents give you.

Your username says it all. As with most places where mature people with class socialize, income and personal fortune is rarely discussed, and many well-to-do here are pretty humble and fly below the radar. If you are indeed a Ferrari owner and someone who do financially well, you should seriously consider how your attitude reflects on the rest of us. We don't need more people adding to the negative stereotypes and misconceptions of how Ferrari owners are. You hurt the brand and the community acting like you do. If you own a Ferrari which I seriously doubt you do, sell your car, please.

Yesterday I had business downtown and pulled into a parking space in front of a pawn shop.

The owner was standing outside, he watched my arrival and as I exited he said "We don't loan on them anymore."
