The gray Speciale looks very nice but it looks like it does not have a lot of options. The price is still above MSRP. Also, this is Ferrari of Beverly Hills and they do not sell anything for a cheap price. I believe the options are lower.

Ehhh... maybe I'm wrong. It seems like a good price. And if I wasn't waiting for a 488, I might have bought this one!

I have been offered cars with very low miles (2-4'000) for 80k off MSRP. They went fast, but the discount is still significant...I think the market is softening for sure

Does anyone recall how long after its intro it took for the Scud to dip below MSRP?

    about a year....

Our 09 Scud was $305...I bought it used with 500 miles for $202 in 2011. Now the same car with (lets say) $10k is worth maybe $210-215 with an asking of $225k. LONG way from recovering its original price.

Asked prices of 458 Speciale in Europe are not decreasing, average price 326 K€ with 6630 km. I am following cars for sale for 1.5 month, asked price increased by 4% during the period. White 458 Speciale are the most expensive, followed by Red (Rosso Corsa and Rosso Scuderia) and then Black/Grey and Yellow Giallo Modena. 31 cars for sale in Europe actually (w/o Switzerland), 10 cars for sale in Switzerland.

Its hard to compare the history of the Scud given deliveries were concentrated during the financial crisis. If you owned any high-end car that didn't depreciate 25-50% you were lucky. Challenge Stradale's were still selling over MSRP in early 2008 (I bought mine shortly after thinking I was smart because I picked it up well below sticker...by 2010 it had depreciated another 25%).

No doubt Spec values will fall given its winter and examples with mileage (like the one at FoBH) are starting to come to market. But longer-term the NA V8 ferrari supply will only decline. Look at the FGT, there are way more in the US (~3,500) than there are Specs and they only seem to go up in value.

Not the Case in the UK at all, hardly any coming up for sale & if they do they usually sell quickly, dealers asking £300 - £320k for a low mileage/new ones...Left hand drives around £250 - £280k...so it seems in the UK they are carrying big premiums, and I have a feeling that the values will actually increase rather than drop

Absolutely agree, Ferrari Birmingham sold a new Triplo Strato at £320k before it even arrive to the showroom 😲 and few days only after putting it for sale. Prices are going up, I just bought mine (Bianco avus) that will look great next to my 599 GTO Rosso Corsa.

Interestingly we had a brand new (UK grey imported car) here in New Zealand with an asking price of $595k (about MSRP) with only 400km on the clock. It sat there for approx 4 months, high spec (probably highest in NZ). Dealer increased the price to $650k a few weeks ago and it's no longer online! I'm not sure he's sold it but it's an interesting tactic, if he did!

I agree, overall prices will stay high and then likely increase. Plug in T/C engines are here to stay, they will get power upgrades with every service like McLaren's do. Speciale engines HAD to be built / developed perfectly to get to pinnacle of N/A performance and from all accounts everyone LOVES their Speciale. It won't be the lack of Speciale's out there that make them collectable/expensive (you can argue the numbers in another forum) it will be the fact that no one will want to let theirs go - that's what will restrict the supply.

Get on the right side of the supply and demand curve and buy one asap.

the recent stock market correction has already spooked many and if we head into a bear market, people will unload their toys faster than you can say aperta. We saw it happen in 2009 and there's no reason to expect things will play out differently next time around.

here is another reason speciale prices wont drop soon, people are still taking deliveries on the vehicles. You probably will not see them drop until next spring, or maybe even the following. I think the speciale prices will hold strong next year.

hold on..I just learned how to seach listing history on ebay...

...that red Speciale on ebay...that is a stunning car. He shows the window sticker with a price of $380. He is asking $380.

He started with an asking of $430 (or $440) and dropped. IIRC these cars seemed to shoot up to the low $400s when they came out and now have settled. Seasonal, maybe.

    Prices are dropping.

Scuderia style value loss in a painfully short time frame? Doubt it.

It will be fun to see what happens in ten years to the market prices of the last of the NA V8s.

It might be more than 10 years, but I think something similar to the 550 might happen.

Some of it is certainly seasonality, we are heading into fall...

But if you want one, you would be wise to get it sooner than later. Don't let a few thousand dollars get in the way of buying a Speciale...

Like others have said before, it's a long-term keeper. Not just because it's so much fun to drive, but also do to the obvious historical significance that will become more and more meaningful over time....

Just a word to the wise.

Doubt it. A market correction to 2014 levels isn't a big deal. It's not like everyone made all their money in 2015. If they were buyers in 2014, which many were, they arent rushing to unload just because it's 2014 again, market-wise.

Might not be the last NA V8. Hybrid NA V8 might be around then, similar to a LF.
