Just another example of marketing over engineering in the audio industry. Oh, well.

Could you at least change the fricken' oil while you're at at it? At least that way we'll know you're an enthusiast.

I use to change the oil in my Camaro when I was in high school and I changed the alternator on my Camry. Sooooo I guess I "was" a Camaro/ Camry enthusiast at one point. I feel a little better about my self.

    I never claimed that.

A true audiophile loves music; an elitist prig demeans IPods for their intended use: portability..

Pig, prig. Same difference... are you back to defend your tube-replacing self now, or just troll some more?

I think the world is big enough for enthusiasm on many levels.
But yeah if you can't change the oil or shift a gear that's one of the lower ones ;)

If this post is accurate I pity you. Your heirs will appreciate your sacrifice even if they barely ever were able to spend time with you.

I'm a builder, not an enthusiast. Mike Soldano is an old friend, that's as close to an audiophile I get. Also any of you guys with bags of money and a new Ferrari, I'm willing to help you screw it up. Think I covered all areas of this thread. I let my cat walk all over my Ferrari with filthy paws, drive it regardless

Find a Boer goat. They run from 250-300 lbs.

Well, if we're looking for sheer mass in hoofed creatures, then I think a Moose would be in order.

But a Boer Goat? Never heard of those before, but, woah!!! That's a big goat!

I am an enthusiast. But I leave the servicing and repairs to others so they can earn a living.

A good friend is the consummate car enthusiast, he loves them, all kinds. He has no mechanical ability or desire. His interesting cars are always looking pristine, which is his pleasure but are seldom driven. To me this a waste of machinery, they stop being cars at some point.
He has encyclopedic knowledge of most kinds of cars and is without a doubt the biggest car enthusiast I know.
It sometimes honk me off when owners of interesting cars know little to nothing about how they work and would be completely helpless with a breakdown. I feel I could appreciate them more, would use them as intended(muscle cars should be beaten like a rented mule) and should have them all.
My dirty fingernails don't make me a better enthusiast but I understand how one could look down their nose at someone who derives pleasure simply from owning and looking at their cars, which mystifies me.

These are the only goats that I let near my Ferrari.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnVv0RkiG4U

They let me know whenever a Camry is about to plow into me.

    Sid

P.S - I change my own oil AND Trans fluid. And, to add a cherry on top - I replaced the old Alpine stereo in my car! I'm a double enthusiast!!!!!!!

What part do you pity - the work hours? Don't. That's what it took to get me where I am and I'm thrilled with my life. I am finally at the point where I'll be able to cut back some. But as I'm a workaholic, I will never cut back a lot. I also have no kids, which is what allows me to work like I do. So my "heirs" are charitable organizations, and I'm sure they won't have a problem with money versus my time.
