Black wheels with the white exterior looks great. Congrats on your first Porsche. Now stop taking pictures of it, and get out on the twisty back roads! :)

Fritz, your car is just the coolest! Big fan of it as is. I am in the throes of finishing up construction making a home for my next build/project and current passion, the hot sibling or your car, this '68 912. For sure at or near the top of my all time favorite cars, '901 series' swb Porsche's.

thanks, looking forward to the process actually. I have a mismatched set of Fuchs...which size/type exactly should I be in possession of? What's your Fritz, or anyone reading this - opinion of chrome steelies (on there) or Fuchs? Both look great on this color for sure.

With out getting crazy expensive ( R wheels) a set of deep six's will give you the most rubber on the road and look right.
In 1968 the widest wheel was the 5.5 that is what is on my 68S, they are not to awful pricey.
What every you do not put the later flatter spoke Fuchs on your SWB, they just do not look right and defiantly not 16 dia. wheels.

5.5 steel wheel is correct for a 1968 912's and of course 912 could be ordered with 5.5 Fuchs.
I like the look of the chrome steel and had a set of 5.5's for my old 67S, but they make the car feel like it had a couple of beers compared to the lighter Fuchs.
So there is a sacrifice for the steel look in my opinion.

Brilliant summary, thanks for that...I think based on this info, it's a no brainier, the lightweight Fuchs will get the nod for sure. I scored a barrage of vintage Porsche parts recently and have some neat original pieces (excellent condition original rubber mats) for example. Big fan of those floors. I hope you don't mind if I refer to you now and then as I plunge into areas I have minimal experience, but no fear either! I appreciate your friendly shared knowledge of all things vintage Porsche.

I am short on money but had to replace the rockers.
The paint is not good but not all that bad.
Soo I met this 60 year old hippie chick with her boy friend looking for work at a truck shop to paint co. info. on the doors of trucks. I was in my cars since run for parts in it and asked her if she could do something with my car, something 60's, something with water and women and not breaking the roofline. She said Yes yes yes we can do it this week end!
It goes with the car, Mexican blanket seat covers and all nicely.
I love that car, here is a picture of me dragging it home, the day I bought it.
