I noticed that some 930 have the shark fins on the side, while others don't. I prefer my car without. Would this be period correct ?

Porsche started fitting them for the 1976 model year. Late-1975s may have also had them fitted (2 GOO, etc.) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143287754-post2670.html

Aerospace 303. Worked great on the original rubber edge and plastic grills on my whale tail without any artificial sheen/gloss.

    Posted already that's okay :)

Hard to say what the car had originally since they don't post the COA. The leather looked original when it was for sale in Japan but you never know with a 1975 Porsche so perhaps it originally had the tartan-dress front seats. Same with the Porsche script on the doors. If it was recently repainted, they should have filled the giant holes in the doors when it was molested with power mirrors and then just refit the manual driver's only mirror - lost opportunity IMO.

Press photo SVPA 148-76 celebrating Porsche’s World Championships for the 1976 racing season.

The Group 5 (935) racing season was not a walk in the park for Porsche as BMW closed the championship points after Imola when the CIS ruled the airfoil support could not be used to house any mechanical devices which gave Porsche only 5 weeks to make the car legal. FIA Group 4 regulations (Porsche Turbo Homologation Nr. 645) stated the engine cover could not be modified but Porsche interpreted that aerodynamic aids in Group 5 allowed a simpler and lighter air-cooled intercooler but it was not allowed after Silverstone. The Youtube video below shows clips of the epic battle from the 1976 season.

World Championship for Manufacturers, 1976, Porsche 935 (Group 5)
Drivers: Jacky Ickx, Jochen Mass, Manfred Schurti, Rolf Stommelen

    Mugello 6 Hours, March 21, 1976, 1st: Jochen Mass/Jacky Ickx, Porsche 935
    Vallelunga 6 Hours, April 4, 1976, 1st: Jochen Mass/Jacky Ickx, Porsche 935
    Silverstone 6 Hours, May 9, 1976, 1st: John Fitzpatrick/Tom Walkinshaw, BMW Hermetite 3.5 CSL

***CSI mandates that Porsche change the tail section of the 935. Porsche had one month to carry out extensive conversions changing the air cooling to water.

    Nürburgring 1000 Km, May 30, 1976, 1st: Dieter Quester/Albrecht Krebs, BMW Schnitzer 3.5 CSL
    Österreichring 6 Hours, June 27, 1976, 1st: Dieter Quester/Gunnar Nilson, BMW Schnitzer 3.5 CSL
    Watkins Glen 6 Hours, July 11, 1976, 1st: Rolf Stommelen/Manfred Schurti, Porsche 935
    Dijon 6 Hours, September 4, 1976, 1st: Jacky Ickx/Jochen Mass, Porsche 935

Total Points: Porsche 122, BMW 94, Ford 9, Lancia 3

Also, I haven't seen a dash that was black in a cork interior car (with pertinence to this Japanese 1975 once again). Usually the interior seats and side bolster color matches the dash. Is this a mistake in restoration or an anomaly and how they built 1975's sometimes?

We would need to see the Kardex or at least the COA to know the exact interior combination, I have seen some very odd and crazy interiors on 75's that Im sure couldn't be had on 76's and on

When it was imported to Japan post-1975, it probably had the red range markings added. The original production date of #0163 should be ~Apr/May '75 so the speedo was probably 2/75 or earlier without the Japan red range markings.

I have not seen the exterior of the first car with red interior and unusual door panels but it was posted on the Porsche exclusive program website. It's difficult to tell from the photo but the exterior color looks similar to the left one below.
