Does someone know which color the stripes have on the Ferrari 500 TRC #0682mdtr, Targa Florio 1958?

As far as I know it is dark green.

I recently saw a You Tube movie of the Targa Florio 1958, and the color can also be red. But the quality of the movie is not very good and because of the sun the view can be disorted. (2.15 min, the 500 TRC is passing).

Looking at the photos on Targapedia.com, the color of the stripe can not be red.

Green could be possible because Starraba the driver is a Brazilian.

Gaetano Starrabba, Prince of Giardinelli, is an Italian former racing driver, born in Palermo.

The stripe is red as you can see in the page 42 Targa Florio 1958.

Poor GS, being told he is Brazilian...actually he is still alive and kicking , so you can ask him what color his car was!

I hope you're not referring to the color image on that page since it appears, at least to me, to be of a scale model, not an actual car in period.

Indeed I am wrong, the car was being called the Brazilian.

There is also a scale model of ART which has green stripes.

I always thought when the car was first sold to Starrabba it was still in its Francorchamps livery although it had been back to the factory and refreshed. the froncorchamps black stripe was painted green and I believe the count called the car his little Brazilian. He then later had the whole car painted red. Today it is as per it's original froncorchamps livery from Le Mans 1957 when it won its class.... But maybe it was white and red!?

    Thanks all for your opinions.

I still think the colour which can be seen on the Youtube movie is distorted by the sunlight and bad quality of the video.

Found on forums.autosport.com this opinion and photo of the helmet of Starraba.

"To end the story of Starrabba's yellow Ferrari with a green stripe:
Yellow and green are the colours of the Starrabba family arms.
Some of his other cars were red with a yellow triangle on the front."

Yes, but the original video is heavy in greens and yellows. When the colors are adjusted to balance out the rest of the footage, it remains clear (from the front and rear) that this stripe is red.

Found this on Forum-auto.com, some one who has spoken with Starraba.

TARGA FLORIO E LE CORSE SICILIANE - Page : 1629 - Histoires du sport automobile - FORUM Sport Auto

Look at the post at the last quarter of the topic.

I can not speak or read Italian and used Google translate.

    News .... color ......

I spent a wonderful afternoon together with Vito Lombardo, one of the historical memories of the motor sport of our city and his nephew Francis.
Uncle tells expertise and direct knowledge of the facts and with a memory of a disarming lucidity motor postwar years, but affects mainly the enthusiasm with which the grandson listens and collaborates to preserve (and preserve) them memories of their own family .

Today in a story and the other, almost by chance it is about the "Brazilian", the Ferrari 500 TRC with which Prince Gaetano Starrabba participated in the Targa Florio in 1958 by winning the class and Monte Pellegrino winning the race.

Inflluenzare no response, I asked if she remembered Vito color TRC ..... White with green stripes!
It is safe? - Very secure, it was green!
So I showed the movie where the color appears to be red .....

    - Absolutely no ! - Responded, the band was green.
