I decided to drive my 95 berlinetta to the dragstrip today. Roll through tech, pull up to the line, short burnout. 4k rpm launch slightly slipping the clutch. 12.62 at 114.15mph Spun on the 2nd pass which ruined ET but backed up the MPH. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4LG-aDRbg4&feature=youtu.be Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks guys! VW didn't get close, even with my botched launch it was 1 second and 10mph behind (2nd time slip)
Nice run Jim. That is pretty quick. Did you change tires or play around with tire pressures? Even the announcer was very complimentary about your car. Car sounded great.
Sounded good. I'd love to see it compared against other 1995 cars. I hate to see a 20 year difference when people talk performance or show how cars compare... Robb
Thanks, I didn't mess around with tire pressures or change tires. I'll never bring it there again, was just curious how it would run in comparison to my previous F355.
I did that years ago with my Lotus Elise that had an insane supercharger setup and a ton of custom work just to see how it would go. I got a bunch of really nasty looks from the FordChevyDodge bunch and with the time I ran I was *kicked off* the track unless I added this long list of stuff like safety shields on the trans and other drag specific stuff.
I like it. I've pulled a few e92 m3s in my 95 by a car or so and those run @110-112 mph traps. So the @114 seems spot on. Who says gated cars are slow!
Really nice run! 12.62 is quick from what I have seen posted online. 95 FTW! How did the 98 355 fair?
Thanks again guys My previous 99 GTS manual trans ran 13.21 at 109mph, same track but different weather conditions. Using an online calculator, corrected to the same conditions I ran the 95 in yesterday, the 99 would have theoretically ran 13.02 at 110.71. (which adds up as it made 32 less rwhp on the dyno and GTS is slightly heavier)
