What makes more sense ?

Way better to have two different animals offering two different driving experiences than just one.

 

F12 and Italia for sure!

 

I think the head knows the answer it's the heart that is throwing the question out there.

2 cars vs 1.

One in for service or up for sale. And you still have one on standby.

 

You will enjoy two FAR more than 1 special car you're afraid to drive hard.

 

Start a stable. 2 cars for sure!

 

I have a Speciale and FF.. I vote for the F12 and the Speciale However, I've had the pleasure of putting 2,400 miles on the Speciale and couldn't possibly go back to an Italia now. When I had the Italia and FF.. I was the none wiser and was very happy with the combo.

Stop looking at all the pics of the Speciale and buy the F12 (btw, I would vote for a used F12 with the spec of you want).

 

Sense or cents?

Sense= get both, variety is the spice of life!

Cents= Speciale is much less likely to depreciate and that 150k uncharge will probably be either a breakeven vs both cars or actually a savings as the F12 will depreciate mightily and the 458 Italia will depreciate too. The Speciale probably depreciates a bit also but not like the others.

My advice: so long as you are ok with taking the depreciation hit, have both cars, there is NOTHING like having a Ferrari V12.

 

I am in a similar position. Looking to make a move in a few years when (hopefully) F12's have depreciated considerably or when (hopefully) Speciale prices have not appreciated considerably. I'd like to keep my Scud and get into an F12 when they bottom out. My crystal ball hasn't come in the mail yet so who knows what's going to happen in 2020.

If the F12's are down around $225K in 3-4 yrs then I will keep my Scud and add an F12. If F12 prices are still rather high and the Speciale prices are reasonable (<$400K) then I will likely sell the Scud to get into a Speciale.

The F12's are certainly depreciating assets at this point and for the foreseeable future. I doubt Speciale's will come down drastically and are almost certainly safe bet for values to increase in the long term.

As most on this thread have previously stated, I would try and keep the Italia and swing the F12. If you can only have one then I would (personally) choose the Speciale. The Speciale would give you an incredible driving experience and as a limited production model it would minimize your risk for depreciation if that is a concern for you.

Depreciation risk? If you want the F12 then just pony up. It not for those with a light heart or wallet!
