the last but one dry sump is almost ready...

Front bay empty? I removed my front spoiler twice.
Once, when I dismantled the body myself for the repaint. And once, when I wanted to remove the radiator without removal of the condenser, to avoid opening the A/C circuit.

After removal of grille and bumper: A few bolts from underneath.
A few bolts accessible via the front wheel wells after removal of the front splash shields. Half an hour for removal. Not much longer for refitting.
I didn't even open the front hood.
Just a second pair of hands is useful.

Alberto, never mind !

Classiche will definitely certify your car with 16" and with the deep spoiler. Without red line ! trust me, they will certify everything you show them, if the numbers are matching. The rest is not interesting at all.

But if you like these two things so much, why you don't have a 308 QV on wich that was original ?

You have a GTB dry sump, on that car there is the one pipe exhaust, the 14" wheels and the small front spoiler original.

But if you like it , do it with the deep spoiler.

 

I know , Alberto, but if you have installed contemporary factory possible options (like the 16" Wheels or the deep spoiler, wich both have been possible to order from the factory when the car was delivered) they will certify the car, because it could have been delivered in that way the car is today.
If you would have f.e. 17" wheels or a aftermarket spoiler, they would not certify, that's correct.

wasn't the big spoiler on the QV also an option, though most people ordered it?
In the parts book, there are two versions. 'Normale' (assume, this is the small one) and 'Maggiore'.
And did the QV come with 16" rims right from the start? I thought, the early QV cars had TRX rims.
Anyway, in my opinion the second cutout for the four pipe exhaust is the bigger issue.

Not trying to answer for Alberto, but I was wondering the same...

Noted from his very first pictures of the engine that the block has a casting date of December 1979 with a drop gear cover casting date of April 1980! Assuming all is original, which is very likely based on Alberto's excellent understanding of his car, his car had to have been put together no sooner than April 1980, right?

your post made me curious about where to obtain new door switches and I was just about to ask you where you exactly got them.

But sorry; Then I saw your last post with the picture. And these are not the same like the original ones and would require to drill through the panels for fitting the screw. Furthermore the knob seems to be too short to act on the switch when closing the door, though I'm not quite sure about the required travel length of the original switch. Maybe it's sufficient.
Nevertheless I cannot imagine, that this is what you want to go for.
Just wanted to mention it, before someone drills through the panels.

Well, I'll try to persuade Alberto to take this Beauty for a spirited drive in the third week of August Bruno ! (I'll make a smartphone-video & will try to get it online, haha !) With me as passenger, I won't put Alberto through the immense pain of leaving the steering wheel in the hands of someone who likes to throw around Italian cars on tracks...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to August, for several reasons !!
