I hope to see you at the pit walk. Still looking for a ticket to that...
the pit walk is on Thursday...are the f1 teams complete set up by then? Friend has a ticket he is allowing me to use..
I would certainly think so, the air freight has been coming in for weeks!! Ok guys, what ELSE is going on this weekend? The My Yacht thing? Any Ferrari or FCA events that are "unpublished"....??? We have to have more, than just Lucy's Chicken and Club Expose!!!! Where's Tamara??
The F-1 Garages will have been set up for at least a week or so. they are fully functional when the engineers and race team get there - usually tuesday - today! ( As will their hospitality and Paddock Suites). most teams have 3-4 traveling full sets of Garage and Hospitality equipment that get sent out, so I'm sure there is one now in MEX as well as one going to Brazil. Last year the Paddock folks were saying that the Austin garage & hospitality set up would be shipped to Abu Dabhi... This is one reason for the huge cost of F-1 ... its literally like a small town that gets set up and torn down every 2-3 weeks.
Weather Underground has just lowered the chance of rain to about 35% after 5 PM on Saturday and to about 20% on Sunday, so it appears the chance of rain on race day has diminished greatly. But Friday and most of Saturday still look like soakers.
Yep. Taking the large view, this part of Texas is under a long term drought. But. as last year's Onion Creek floods show, it's best not to get too much of it, all at one time. I always recommend the North Entry to the Track Property, rather than those from the west (Toll Way). Looking at the topo of the area, I think that is stil the best!
There was last year at Camp Mabry. Even arriving late with my date, everyone was very nice (I think they even gave us an order to go!) You need the FCA Newsletter to know for sure, and maybe the regional event in Dallas last month, has them "spent".... I was hoping to hear about some of that, here...
I won't be able to attend Austin F1 this year.....ill have to watch the race from the Sheraton in Rio de Janeiro sipping a Caipirinha...or two....Forca Ferrari!
The actual rain forecast was always pretty low for Race day. Of course, it's hard to practice, get your set up tuned, or put down any rubber on the racing line, in a storm!!
Hey Allen....one of these days come by my place near Lagovista and I will prepare a Caipirinha myself for you! Cheers.....
With Andrew Zimmerman. He was in Lockhart at three BBQ's Smitty's, Lamberts, Kews and one other. In Austin, Dia Due. All looke tasty
I hope you meant Andrew Zimmern, unless you are referring to the chef at Sepia in Chicago. And I hope you packed an umbrella or some serious rain gear. Maybe even hip boots for Thurs and Fri.

Thanks so much, for sharing!! Any others interested can ride my tab at the Broken Spoke...Thursday. Looking at the weather service it's going to bad near the south coast. Austin will be fine.
You know the FCA charter is to support the marque, and be open to ALL enthusiasts. Go read it, on the website... Not going to badger the issue here, but I suppose this years party will be smaller, and less exciting, than the dusty armory was, last year!!
