that 918 does have the wp option. fixed rear wing. and that might hurt top speed.

doesn't it look like laf jumped the start?

Nope, that 918 does not have WP Option. Rear wing angle can only be altered by going into sport or race mode, even then by only a small amount. Based on my experience with the car and the circuit I decided to keep in HL mode, ie full power......

Agree. A little bit before the P1, the 918 is the last to leave the blocks ..

Unless there are instruments on all cars, this video won't prove anything.

I heard the 918 is updated. How much hp does it have now? That black 918 in the drag race is yours right? I suppose it won...

What I mostly want to know is if they did more than one run. 3 would be the best to get somewhat accurate results.

So is the P1 still the only one on Trofeo R? Routing all that power to the rear wheels, the LaF would certainly benefit from stickier tires also.

Correct the P1 was on its Trofeo Rs, for all 3 events......FYI, I kept the 918 in Hot lap mode for both the Santa pod 1/4 and The Runway runs.

Little taster of what's to come for the weekend

This is the 1st time the P1, Lafa, and 918 have all been together at the same time, for comparison time testing. One of the most exciting days I have had for a long time.

So this tests don't mean anything.
They should have put all 3 cars on the same type of tires.
    The ugly P1 cheated.

I agree the P1 should have been made to run on its OEM rubber. But it wasn't.
There are a couple of other interesting points that I will point out once the video is out.....

this test will be awesome so I wish there would be no more complaining about tires! whats next? which motor oil did they run. the laf had unfair advantage because doesn't have seat frames and 918 would be faster if remove seats? its ridiculous. enough!

mac offers trofeo as an option so it is legit. others should have offered it too but they didn't. tough. (and btw, mac is my least fav car so im not a fanboy by any means)

Does not get any more open, 3 customer owned cars, zero factory support, all 3 full with same fuel from same pump.

Ferrari would offer Trofeo R's too if they could, however Pirelli doesn't make a tire that can fit LaF.
And we're not debating here the logic behind building the cars by having different approaches, we're simply stating that in order 4 this test to be fair, they all need to be on the same type of rubber. It's not that complicated.

I would think that they'd need to be on the best rubber given how each car was designed.

Correct, the Trofeo would not be able to deal with the torque etc of the 918

This is a run I did back in May

I've seen so many pulls on that strip that it's now on the List.

Incredible! How far was the speedo off of GPS if you know?

I feel like I see so many more 918 owners pushing their cars on film than the other two. Could be because there's simply more of them, no clue...

Its simple. 918 owners are much more interested in driving their car, LaF is garage queen anyways and P1 is un-driveable if real world road conditions arent perfect.

You can even see owners driving their 918`s during winter :D

Here is a 918 absolutely crushing a veyron. Seems to pull away above 150 as well. I feel like from videos I've seen the newer 918's are faster than when they debuted. Numbers seem to climb quicker or in bigger increments on the speedos. Maybe the battery's got an upgrade? Either way I wouldn't be surprised if 918's were pulling 200 kph in less than 7 seconds and 300 kph in less than 18 seconds. But I'll defer to owners to comment on that.

I can't do a comparison respecting both companies as a customer.

But that's not how you launch a Veyron.

I know the veyrons launch was bad, it's obvious. But the 918 just gains and gains. That's what impresses me. It never seems to let up which is in contrast to how I was told they would accelerate, basically hitting a wall at 160.
