I joined this forum simply to follow this build.

One of the most detailed, enjoyable build threads I`ve ever read with astonishing attention to detail.

So 51kg for full fluids and driver... Was this pilot a horse jockey or large stuffed animal?

Dominique - I know it is off topic but I was wondering how you ended up parting with 88779. If you sold it to buy something else, what was the replacement and was it worth the trade? Was it every bit the visceral experience that we all imagine a GTE would be? I have never driven anything with that sort of power to weight and no electronic gizmos and would love to hear what it was like.

Just wanted to add my thanks for sharing so much of this project - the highs and lows, with total honesty and openness. It has been a joy to follow, and it's ending up as and even more remarkable car than I suspect anyone imagined at the start. I hope one day I'll have a chance to see it in the flesh. Congratulations!

I returned to the thread for the first time in two months today and my has a lot happened! Great to see the progress made... having followed this thread for some time now, it is incredible how near completion you are now. What a journey you have shared with us, thanks! Few people put such effort into keeping a legend on the road (and track), even fewer are happy to share every little detail with others. Hats off! And enjoy your beautiful machine, you earned it!

Thanks for your kind comments. Always a slightly risky venture going with full disclosure, makes you understand why the Russians never showed their space shots live. You enjoy all the good news and feel very exposed with the bad.

Anyway, car is having a few details resolved, a couple of sensors needed replacing, fuel tank readings were a bit off so needed resetting, and just a bit of fettling, but overall, after our successful run at Donnington, we are very pleased with the outcome and Dickie seemed to really enjoy it.

Decided that we will shoot the Evo video next year when the weather is more consistent but we have enough images for the Evo article so that is now full steam ahead.

Just magic! at that time I was also having a 360 CS and a 575 F1 as well as a F40 stradale, so you cannot even imagine the difference between such beast and a "normal" ferrari car.
In the same time, it was not really usable without a full team dedicated, for transport, maintenance, set up, start (no battery in it),.... but a great experience, certainly similar to what people are doing now with "special" models such as fxx series.

Then I sold all of such toys, waiting now for better time to come back: I'll be back!

Thank you, but not me! Evo's Dickie Meaden is the smiling driver as unfortunately I could not even be there that day, and we had to get the test done for the article.

Thanks Tony and NS, more to come but a bit of a wait for a number of reasons.

Car wont hit the track again until next year as we live in England. Then there will be the Evo video to follow from that.

Evo article is now making its way through the system and I know they are now working on it and I am awaiting a publishing date which I will post but hoping not too long now. And whilst I have finished Book 1, Book 2 relies on the Evo article as the final entry.

In one way it is almost a shame the car is finished, but in another way I am somewhat relieved.
