I need a 4th and 5th gear set for a 512TR including synchros, so if you know of anywhere that can whip them out for a lot less than $8k Graeme, I'm more than interested.

The Poms have been writing up about the classic car boom for the last few years and its continued.

Original Ferrari boxes (up to Queen Mother) were works of art. Then they switched to ZF internals, which gave little trouble, apart from 365BB diffs, a Ferrari design fault.

However, there was a definite decline in gearbox quality from the late 80's. A custom gear manufacturer I spoke to at the time said the internals were "made of cheese" compared to earlier cogs.

nope, I just spent a month in the UK and talked to a few specialists - they were quite subdued.

Once again, don't confuse asking prices with selling prices.

indeed. don't you consider it highly irregular ianb that some vehicles in the uk appear to be shopped around from dealer to dealer without actually selling to an end user? noticed this with some dinos and daytonas over the last two years.

Interesting, he tried to sell it a few years back for $145k; but obviously still has it.

I never showed him the photo or told him of its "race" history. I doubt if he has any idea :p

Listing has been pulled so I can't see the pic; but I was told the owner re-trimmed the steering wheel in blue leather. Needless to say it was never that was when I sold it to him.

The guy that I sold the car to was your stereotypical gold chain wearing Greek used car dealer, so I am not surprised.
