My new DD. picked it up a few weeks ago. Bad pic, but it's the best I have right now. Mark Image Unavailable, Please Login
Badge gave it away. But with so many options which on, please. And yes a good choice. I have rented the Chevy. And Ford convertibles. Ford is by far the best choice
A few people have asked me for a review of the car after I got some miles on it, so here goes (I am going to post this in Silver as well for those that asked me up there). I like the car very much. Yes, torque (and the car in general) is FUN. However, you do have to rev it a bit to really get into the power. Thats just the nature of the Coyote engine, but I like it. Once you get it in the power band, it pulls hard; harder than I was expecting. I think its acceleration above 100MPH is what surprised me the most. The couple of times I used the power to slide around a bit, its been very easy to control and steer with the go pedal. The engine feel very robust. There is certainly some more power in there that can be freed up. The clutch and shifter are excellent. The shifter is short and makes a very positive engagement. By comparison, the Abarths shifter feels vague and wobbly. Its not up the precision of an S2000, but then again, nothing is. The clutch is light and easy to modulate. The friction zone is rather small and much further back when you release the clutch out than most other cars Ive drive, but I got used to it very quickly. The interior is decent. It looks nice and feels pretty decent. Of course, you can tell its not meant to be high end interior, but I like it. Most of the interior is soft to the touch, but there are still some hard plastics. I love the seats. Theyre supportive and comfortable. I feel like I could sit in them for hours with little fatigue. The seat heaters and coolers work, but theyre not great. The heaters/coolers in our MDX are much more effective. I didnt buy the car for the seat heaters/coolers, so how well they work is not much of a consideration for me. The back seats, again not something I really care about, are nice and comfortable if the passengers in the front can pull their seats up far enough for some leg room. It makes a really nice sound when youre on the gas, but it definitely needs a new exhaust that deletes Fords large, heavy resonator. Thankfully, Ford supplies a TON of aftermarket bits that wont void the warranty, so I can cure that problem rather easily. Fords sports exhaust is made by Borla and sounds excellent. It totally transforms the sound. Ford Racing M-5200-M8SB Mustang GT Sport Cat-Back 2015-2016 What has surprised me most is how planted it feels. I got the performance pack (formerly known as the track pack), which really helps make the car feel more like a sports car than a muscle car. Theres no mistaking it for a small car, but the harder you press it, the smaller it feels (to a degree). I obviously cannot toss it around like I did my Abarth, but if you load up the suspension a little more gently, it stays planted and feels very solid. There is some body roll, but not much. The brakes included with the performance pack are excellent. At least up front, they are some serious equipment. The pedal is firm and gives good feedback. Its exactly how I want it to feel, but does take a little more pedal pressure to really clamp down for a hard stop. Overall, Im very happy with the purchase. Its a lot of car for the money; a very fun DD. It feels much more grown up with the 5.0 and performance pack. You certainly can still buy a rental fleet Mustang, but specd right, it is a different car. It is a HUGE step forward from previous generations. Mark
thanks for the writeup! sounds like they fixed the problems without destroying the "muscle car-ness" that makes the Mustang fun. I need to drive one
I posted one up a little ways, but other than that, I do not. I'm planning on washing and shining it up real nice and getting some good pics. I'll post when I do. You're welcome to come over and turn some money into noise any time. Mark
Nice to see another S550 owner on here. I haven't messed with mine yet, though I'm seriously considering the MRT Resonator delete H Pipe and either the Borla S Type or Steeda axle-back exhaust.

congrats, Raptors are bad ass, I have been in one a few times. actually started going over a Colorado mountain road in one, but that is another story.
Thank-you, I have had it since last September. A REALLY different driving experience than the Corvette. It is also my first truck I have ever owned. Tons of cars, no trucks until now.
Got this for my wife for Xmas - this has been her dream car since she was a teenager. Still working on a few small things but she's probably going to drive this almost daily - 1972 with a small block. I am not too familiar with American muscle cars (other than mustangs, corvettes and camaros) but I parked next to a fantastic looking car today at the service station. Should have got a pic or two but figured out afterwards it is a Plymouth Barracuda 318. Right hand drive, dirty cream colour with a black interior and matt black hood (bonnet) and a thick black stripe down the swage line, with 318 decals. No hubcaps, black steel wheels and thick white-lettered tyres. It was certainly no garage queen, rough and ready and flippen' menacing looking but it looked to be in great mechanical condition - started first time with a massive thumping engine note, and pulled off smoothly (2 or 3 speed?) No visible tailpipes - was this normal, perhaps tucked up behind the rear fender? I really dig this car! I really should have got the guys number! Anyway we have huge annual classic car gathering this weekend (usual over a thousand cars!) about 3 miles from where I saw the car so will try and hunt it down
Nice Chevelle SS. I have been a fan of Chevelles since I bought by '70 in 1976. The '70 model is my favorite.
Does this qualify as "American muscle'? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
