I'm guessing this is the car? Classic Ferrari F12 Berlinetta for sale - Classic & Sports Car (Ref Surrey)

Looks like this is the matte silver that was one of the launch colors, no? If so, it looks amazing in person. I believe it's something like a $50,000 option.

Still, going with a matte paint job is usually more trouble than it's worth, IMHO. Unless your friend has a professional detailing team at home who can rub the car down with soft cloths and rubbing alcohol after each drive. :)

How awesome! For about a week. After which I imagine the novelty would wear off and youre stuck with a paint job that's a PITA.

I have had factory matte black on my Mercedes G63 for almost over two years now and have had no problems with it. VERY easy to maintain. It is pretty much driven year round here in Florida, has been through major flooding and has had not been babied. I cannot be happier with it's durability.

I like it so much I have a grigio silverstone opaco Aperta coming in :)

A few friends have "frozen" paint jobs on their BMW M car, factory matte, very low maintenance, the paint looks new even a few years old. Old matte jobs were like you described, new Matte is very easy to take care of, but this is assuming Ferrari's matte is similar (I haven't seen it in person.)

I was always surprised with some negative experiences with matte colors. I have matte black Scott bicycle and I am driving it on muddy tracks & narrow forest roads. After 3 years of beating, paint looks like it was applied yesterday.

I am very impressed with durability of matte paint in general (at least on bike).

I've had Aluminium Opaco for 10 months no issues at all and when it gets really dirty it actually doesn't look quite as dirty as a non-Matte car It's spent half of it's life so far in Scottsdale and the other half on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state where it's pretty muddy and dirty. I have a detailer that uses reverse osmosis water and then blow dry or and then patted but as long as you don't swirl when you're drying your fine. I just had the entire front end wrapped as well as the side skirting mirrors bumper and of course around the wheel wells in Scottsdale at the dealer. We did the front bumper first and took to car shows and nobody could tell the difference. The metal flake from the factory in the matte paint still shows through really well so we went ahead and wrapped the rest of The front end. I do wash the car myself occasionally in Washington as there aren't any great detailers way out on the peninsula but there are some in Gig Harbor. I think the car looks the most stunning in this color as the light plays off the matte silver in both sunny and cloudy conditions so that all of the subtlety of the lines on the car show up. The factory also did the wheels in matte gray which looked terrific. IMHO. My wife actually chose the color which surprised me as she hated matte colors and thought they all looked like Darth Vader coming down the road. LOL. By the way we have 5700 miles on it and no issues.

Subcess, good info. I picked up a 2014 aluminum Opaco F12 last month and your tips will be useful. I picked up two matte finish products from Dr. Beasley. Matte wash soap and matte sealant. I'm using denatured alcohol and distilled water 50/50% for touch ups.

I am sure there are ways to maintain and love with a matte finish but matte xpel gets your there without the maintenance.
