Let's face it as the cars go up so does everything associated with them. If you want to complete your car with missing tools, books etc better try and find them for a reasonable price while you still can. 246 Dino and earlier car bits are now getting really pricey and 308's are following the trend and I can't see them getting cheaper anytime soon.

    Steven,

1375 GBP is about 1950 euros; and 1300 euros Is still "outrageous" to me for a 328 tool roll, considering That thèse were selling for 300 euros only three years ago.
Perhaps it's me who is unable to adjust to a new reality, but I notice That the 328 tool roll has been for sale for about three months now without any taker. I still think That more than 1.000 euros Is really too Much, considering the tools themselves.

Actually both of the kits have been for sale over 3 months. The UK set had reduced price twice already. The German set looks nice but will not ship outside Germany may be the reason of not sold yet.

There are many examples of incomplete sets sold on eBay for over €1300 recently, so the trend is definite.

but you cannot turn back the clock (except for last night ;-) )

I remember ten/twelve years ago when even the Dino kits where going for 300.-

I have to agree, I saw them 3 to 4 years back for $400 US for a complete set. the asking prices are unrealistic and who uses the tools, they just look nice under the hood or collecting dust where ever else they are laying, did some of the sellers sold their cars without the tools ? to me its daylight robbery...LOL ;)

its so easy to replicate the pouch, get some high quality screw drivers and wrenches of the same sizes, a similar red pliers and make a roll at the leather or upholstery shop...they can even make the little brown leather belts around the jack pouch...

Buno, you sold me two tools of the kit for euro 160. Considering that in the 308 kit there are 15 tools, the price would be 1200 Euro for them all, and without the bag...

please send my money back... ;)

    ciao

No, not yet, Bruno. I'm happy to know they were the most difficult to find, so you can easily find out the others and sell me them for less... ;)

    Martin,

The « Kravm » wrenches for QVs and 328s are probably the easiest to find, either the full set of eight, or piece by piece.
Considering that there are at least two different finishes, “shiny chrome” and “dull chrome”…and that inside the “dull chrome” subtype, some series of wrenches are marked “Chrom Vanadium Kravm” on one side and “Ferrari” on the other side; others are only marked “Chrom Vanadium Kravm” on both sides. Of course, you would want a fully matched set, so when you buy piece by piece, care must be taken to the finishes…
However, the one that is very difficult to find alone (and therefore very expensive if you are lucky to find one) is the 14/14mmm combination wrench.
A serie of eight Kravm wrenches, without the combination wrench BUT with the 14/15mm flat wrench instead does not belong to a 308/328 tool roll, but to a Testarossa.

Polytools wrenches are more difficult to find than Kravm; 14/14mm combination wrench very difficult.
Then Everest even more difficult than Polytools.
Then “Utema” wrenches, which are the rarest; and the combination wrench 14/14mm the most difficult (Alberto…)

Pliers are relatively easy to find BUT extreme care must be taken between the variation of these…

Then the spark plug wrenches, which could be either difficult to find, or expensive (above 300 U$ usually) and sometimes badly chipped.
Either the 308 one (21mm inside the crown for 14mm plugs) or the 328 one (18mm inside the crown, for 12mm plugs); those go with the 14mm combination wrench; earlier ones for carbed car do not need the combination wrench, they are from a "T" handle subtype.

Then come the different screwdrivers versions, which are different for carbed / injected two valve / injected four valve / and 328
A full set, well matched (= all handles same color, and if with the “Ferrari” white script, this in the same direction (upwards the handle or downwards) and with all blades with coherent and matched finish (= not one rusted and others brand new and shiny), can command a high price also. If bought piece by piece, flat blades screwdrivers are much more difficult to find than Philipps blade.

Auxiliary window crank are also rare and difficult to find / expensive.
Tool rolls without tools also, and the utmost care must be taken to ensure that you got the right one, as the pockets, especially those at the right, are different for each version of the car.

    Rgds

These tools are on a par with the indian Everest wrenches in the early 308 tool sets :) Especially that adjustable spanner and screwdrivers.

    Best Regards

Okay. So, I took a look at my tool kit just to see what you folks are all so excited about.

... You have got to be kidding me! These things are awful. The screwdrivers are particularly hideous.

My kit has been in a plastic storage bin ever since I bought the car off of the first owner who must have kept them in his own plastic bin because none of them have ever been used. I now understand why. They shall stay that way.

For the record, my US '83 came with the orangish-brown handle screwdrivers with no "Ferrari" on them, the exhaulted “Utema” wrenches, unbranded orange-ish dip-coat handle pliers and all the other usual bits and bobs.

    (No, I ain't selling.)
