Welcome, and you'll note the original history of the car I dug up.

Ok you can post. I'm full of attachments here in the forum. I can not attach any more with my account. I will scan the Quattroruote article of the DD and I will send you by mail as soon as I have a minute.

If you know what details to look for these cars tell you so much. Its cool to note how the cars were continually being improved as production went along.

On a separate topic, do you know at what point the ZF transmission begun?

I don't know if I'm correct or not but I have this one noted as '12796', could this be the single-mirror DD that Marmiroli was talking about as shown in the DGM illustrations? (with supplementary mirror && wing added)?

    This is Patrick Mimran.

I think this is more likely the very first LP500s, which was in fact a LP400S with a 5l engine, the production list shows this.
CLA12470 1982 Red Tan The first 5 Litre car that went to Patrick Mimran.

even the info about CLA12470 is not 100% confirmed, I have no access to the LP500s production list.

Looks like 1121210 became CLA12471 as homologation car.

I'll check my files for the good ones tomorrow, meanwhile here is your lovely ZA9C005A0HLA12174, engine 1382, delivered to Italy via famed Lamborghini concessionaire Achilli Motors Milano, June 1987. Red with Champagne interior.

I've always wondered is the countach qv the most powerful carbureted production car ever?

The car in that photo looks more like my Countach QV at the 1987 London Motorshow.

The give-away is the extra pod next to dash pod housing a top-of-the-range Alpine cassette/radio, which looks to be fitted to the Countach in your photo too.

The usual DIN slot in the centre console on my car contains a fancy Alpine graphic equaliser. Portmans used to make extra ££££ by fitting these more expensive Alpine units and the London Motorshow was a good place to show it all off to potential customers.

Joe, are you sure your photo was taken in 1985?

Harry, I think you are right and I am mistaken, I assumed the image was taken in 1985.

Patrick Mimran's own Downdraft 12997 had a much more elegant solution to the application of all the Alpine units (cassette, CD, equalizer). Of course he had the luxury of having the factory carry this out. The clock was deleted in the assembly process.

As we are all car nuts here and know of every high HP car ever made, I think if you have to ask, you have your answer.......

The DD QV engine is the highest spec/hp carb'd engine ever put into a street machine. It is the pinnacle!

A V12 with 4 Cams, 4 Valve Heads and DD Webbers. Nothing else comes close, a masterpiece.

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think thats wrong.

That makes me wonder what else could be done to a Countach to get more horsepower.

I think you're correct and you have been saying for some time about the 4 attributes the engine has that no other engine does: A V12 with 4 Cams, 4 Valve Heads and DD Webbers.
