Hard to decipher what's written there, but if you look closely, you can see that the engine bay hood that the factory worker is fitting is that of a Downdraft.

Dashboard ventilation changes from Patrick Mimran's 12997 onwards as noted in the factory QV owner's manual, as Raymond had said.

True, my car was most likely the Proto for the new dash (built in May 1986 perhaps changed later?), when exactly it was used for the production cars I have to dig a bit, looks like Mike's GLA12002 has them too, means also cars produces in May/June 1986 might have gotten the new dash.

But looking in detail at the pictures it shows different windscreen vents than they used even in MY87, those came most likely in MY88,5 with the automatic climate control (same as in the early Diablos). Also the pictures and the text do not match - wrong figure # :)

But who cares, btw this was only mentioned in the US QV owners manual, I have to see if the european manual was also updated.

BTW HLA12046 had a engine out service in 2002 at Garage Despont in Villaz-St.Pierre near Fribourg, that's when I found her.
In the upper floor they hosted a number of sportcars, also a blue McLaren F1.
She was for sale last year, with a lot of service remarks but exactly that one missing...

Yes, that scan is definitely from a European QV owners manual, 12997 is noted in there.

GLA12947, owned by Andrej F. from Lausanne.
-Lausanne, second Owner, french car with yellow lights but sold in Switzerland, first registration May 1986.
That picture was at my mechanic in 2005 when we replaced the leaking head gasket of GLA12997, there's an image showing 4 CT's in his garage.

In the showroom with QV #GLA12926 and LP500s #CLA12511: http://www.countach.ch/HeadGasket/P1020229.jpg

OK, saw it so far only in the US manual, unfortunately my car had no books at all when I bought her in 2001, I got the title, emission document and one set of keys...

Look at the torque curve, funny it begins at 2500rpm, but I know why, at 2000-2500 the engine has a hesitation, of course not remarkable in gear 1 and 2.
With the hot cams GLA12997 has even more... but at 3000 you think a turbo kicks in.

I also have this 7 page document on the new climate control system, which also calls out Raymond's VIN. This is the first page.

Yeah, I noticed he engine hatch where the worker was standing. I thought maybe this might have been one of the imported cars that Joe Nastasi brought over.

If I'm not mistaken, Mario Andretti had a red one with "factory" pinstripes... And once I saw a black one with gold pinstripes. It was so 80's... Gorgeous :) I wonder if you have a picture of it Joe.

Don't forget, the famed Walter Wolf Countachs had pinstripes also!

Mario Andretti's red Countach with pinstripes was in fact an LP500S (12773, his first Countach which we sold last year to a collector).

I know the black Downdraft with gold wheels with the pinstripes you speak of, I don't know if that was a factory application, but it suits the car.

I'm aware of three other factory pinstripe applications (there must be more), so it wasn't unheard of in the 70s & 80s.

You'll note also that with the advent of Downdraft production, you could order the car with piping on the upholstery seams, and more besides!

This is the interior of a Dutch-delivered Downdraft. Perhaps a bit much for some, but this was the mid-80s.

A clarification of the cars Joe brought over (as told to me directly by him in recent times) is that at no point did he suggest that there were only "13" Downdrafts that were imported - this number was created by others. He also told me that the cars imported were simply European Downdrafts, which were then subjected to mandated compliance modifications under bond once in the USA, just as the similar-era Ferrari 288 GTOs were. He also had the factory set some of them up with safety panels & side-markers and such. When I pressed him on how many Downdrafts he brought in, he was uncertain, but indicated that there were significantly more than 13!

Not that any of this really matters at this point in time.

Seems to be another one, which VIN is this?
GLA12927 - was for sale at Oldtimer Galerie Toffen, has my ignition box and a dual alternator Setup (instead of the smog pump). Special not Standard steering wheel with white insert.
    http://www.radical-classics.com/youngtimer/lamborghini-countach-_2_-1607/bildergalerie?next=bild

Because the one in my Picture is #GLA12926, owned by another friend of mine.

The one on GLA12997 is much more elaborated.
