#KeepFightingMichael
I think Michael will take about 10 years to recover and come out of this. His survival is already a miracle. Should he have normal abilities 10 years time, it will make him an even more of a role model to people to continue fighting and never give up.
MS is my hero. But, I don't know whats worse, to keep him a vegetable or letting him go. As humans, family and friends we are selfish in matters as this. I really wonder what MS would want if he was in control.
I agree with you about the fact that this article is very odd. I wonder why calculating the daily costs of medical care and the personal finances of MS is such a point of interest for a "Christian" publication. I too, was looking for a higher and more spiritual perspective on MS's very unfortunate situation.
..I found a lot of old photos. Not wanting to aggravate anyone, I just always liked that he supported Corinna's passion for horses....it was a nice symmetry to the relationship. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think you have that wrong.... IF he is blinking his eyes..once for "yes" twice for "no".... Or even he cries, hearing familiar voices, ...these are indications his intellect at some level is there. Given time for healing, the human body may regain motor functions. I think most of us would settle for walking, and throwing a ball with the kids, were it us.. Simple things in life.... some people would live just to hear the sound of their childrens voices. Tragedy such as these often put things into perspective, and the superhero schu is likely no different. I am sure he would just love to feel a hug from his child and tell each other that they love one another. I think he would live for that every day, regardless of his previous achievements. A man to see his children older and stronger is what every parent wishes. Deep down I think a person would trade all of it for just one more day or even hug, or one more kiss from a loved one.
Asking a speculative question here, but I wonder why we have heard absolutely nothing from Ralph ... not even a "no comment" has been squeezed out of him to my knowledge.
The Schumachers are a private family...reporting endless no comments will add zero to any article too.
Ralph has now a very active role in KSM Motorsport, the German Tony Kart distributor and race team that was founded by Michael. During the race weekends he is even working as a mechanic for his drivers. He has been interviewed once and while but looks like nobody asks about his brother... The same applies for Mick Jr, journalists are simply not asking...
Everything we hear from day one is just speculation....we really don't know anything at all about Michael's condition except that he is in really bad shape. I really wish that they would make an announcement so that we would all know the truth. I so totally respect the family's request for privacy but it's tough not knowing how he's doing.
Well, privacy is not disclosing any information; that means no announcement. So, you respect it by accepting it, or you just get curious.
William, I'm not sure about your meaning here.... I totally respect the family's decision to NOT release any info....it's just that I wish I knew how he was doing and if he has a chance of resuming a normal life. Michael is (still is!) my favorite driver and he seems to be a classy guy as well....I am heartbroken over what happened to him.
It seems to me that you contradict yourself, somehow. You respect privacy, but you want an announcement at the same time. Privacy means embargo on information: period. The Schumacher family seems to say "Move over, there is nothing to see". That's what it looks to me. Personally, I prefer to remember the individual when he was at his best, not when what's left of him is a mere shadow, which is probably what it is in this case. I had a relative who suffered a similar cranial trauma in a bike accident and lived in a vegetative state for the next 8 years before he finally died of kidney failure at only 30. His passing was not only a deliverance for him, but for everybody around him. So, I imagine the state Schumacher may be in now, with no mental function and declining health. It's a harrowing experience for the entourage, and it's no surprise they don't want to disclose anything. They must have already been told that the chance of recovery are practicaly nil.
I agree with you 100% remember Michael Schumacher as he was, not as he is now Let his family have there time with him, with no intrusion from the outside world
Sad story about your relative! Regarding MS's condition, you are speculating......for all we know, MS could be recovering. As I said before......I respect the family's request for privacy but at the same time I wish that I knew how Michael was doing. Contradicting myself??? Call it whatever you want to but that's the way I feel about it....Jeez! Does everything have to turn into an argument here? This has gotten pretty silly so I will leave it at that.
I know exactly what you're saying, Furio. I would love to know if there's any progress and any hope for a somewhat normal future. The man contributed so much to the sport and it's heartbreaking to think of the bad way things could go. And while I respect that the family wants privacy, I wouldn't have taken the same action. I am a fiction author, and because of this situation have already instructed my husband that if something horrible were to ever happen to me (and that's possible since I won't give up extreme sports), that he was to give my readers regular updates on the situation, even if only to say "Nothing has changed, please keep praying." People who have never even met you CAN form an attachment to you. I would not want the people who've supported my career wondering about me. I'd rather have them know, even if the truth is grim.
Jana, I love it....GREAT!!! I told my family that I want to wear my dark blue Prada suit in the box and play my favorite Disco and 70's music at the wake! Why not....have some fun and remember me in a good way I'm glad that you understand what I am talking about regarding MS Tell us more about your writing...
I think we should all leave the subject alone. Maybe even remove this thread from fchat. If and when his family ever decides to let the world know what's going on with Michael then it's fine. In the meantime, let's all respect their privacy and their decision. My 2 cents.
