The Official 458 Speciale A picture Thread

I was at the factory last week and There was a black Aperta with a red stripe across the hood that looks amazing. It was just about to start assembly. One very cool detail was the painting of the shields on the fenders. Very nice touch. If the owner is on here..well done!!

I think "in paint" included "the line" because his is in paint too or just came out. His dealer is talking to someone...not sure if it's the factory or FNA. They're trying to coordinate a time to fly over and watch it come off the line.

 

When Ferrari posts top your my.ferrari account it doesn't reflect the actual date it was painted as they're pretty slow at getting the info out. Similarly if your dealer checks MODIS, the date it appears in MODIS doesn't mean that's the actual day it went into paint - Ferrari seem to be quite slow at doing those updates also. So in reality, I could go to the factory and see your car just finished assembly and you might think it's at the chassis stage!!

My understanding was that all 458 variants would be finished by the end of October - so our cars in the last couple of weeks seem to be the last of the non aspirated V8s.

Great to hear a new Ferrari is being added to your growing collection! Was your dealer the one who delivered the yellow/black int 488 GTB seen here?

 

That colour is stunning in person.

 

I know that they are frequently way behind in accuratly reporting build data. The triple layer paint I was told was the main holdup. Hoping to see it arrive stateside late Nov.

 

We are taking delivery of our car at the factory the second week of December. It will be interesting to see if they have any more 458/Speciale/Speciale A still on the line although I doubt it.

Is that matte blue carbon?

 

Yes. Same as on my LaF. Diffuser, front spoiler ans side mounts next to the windows. Interior is matte grey.

Thanks for posting Peter, another beautiful addition to the TDF team. Would love to see any detailing of the blue carbon.

Living in Switzerland, I assume you just nip over to Germany to immediately find suitable roads for a 300kph dash?

 

Curious to see how the matte blue carbon looks - I have the regular blue carbon on my aperta. At the atelier, it looked very dark but every picture I see shows a brighter blue - would be interested to see pictures of the matte blue if you have any?
