And today I added the ash tray insert. Seems like many of the cars have lost this. I think we need to make these on the 3D printers...

Got the FINAL dust cover in the mail today for my luggage. So happy to have all the items. Thanks big time for selling it to me from 4respy (Steve) in CA. The brotherhood always comes through in the clutch.

Got my parking brake handle back from refinishing and it is back on the car. I need to get the car cleaned up from the last few drives but it is looking fantastic.

Looking forward to my exhaust fine tuning next.

That overmat looks like it has pulled forward

Needs retaining with grommets and OEM lug

    Handbrake looks sweet

Yes, those are my top mats. The OEM mats are underneath and properly held with the grommets. I guess I should just remove the OEM mats for safekeeping.

I did this 2 days ago...

    Removed and stored original mats
Fitted the Ricambi grommets to my non original but loverly overmats.

These mats are thick but the original lug riveted to the floor still pokes through and can be turned 90 degrees to lock the mat in place.

Bugged me that the mat kept riding up to interfere with the throttle pedal
    Now is perfect.

I'm very envious of all those interior bits. I definitely need to fix up my bubbling hvac panel and sticky ebrake. Great looking car!

So I sent my set of OEM F355 wheels to be refinished by the true experts. Chas recommended an outfit that I am very excited about - they have good experience doing the magnesium wheels and offer prices for the work that were not ridiculously expensive. Thank you Chas! :)

Unfortunately after 6 or 7 calls, I could not find one outfit here in AZ that could get it done correctly - so I opted for out of state guys.

The only bad news is that they indicated I had (10) cracked lug inserts - so at $25 each installed that adds up fast...

Total cost ran around 900 (150 per wheel) plus the lugs - shipping was separate at about 175 each way.

But I am excited to get them back and on the car. Will post updates in early January when they return.

That seems like a very reasonable price all things considered.

Looking forward to the resulting pics.

They indicated using dealkaline and chromate conversion with no chemical stripping.

    Is this DOW 7?
You going to have the wheels crack tested Robb with a dye or xray?
Correct colour i believe is Argento Nurburgring with clear coat...painted over a white epoxy primer.

Hill Engineering makes superior bolt inserts btw

Interested to see how your wheels are renovated.

I'm guessing the use of an impact driver was the most likely cause of the ten cracked liners, verses age, time or hard driving?

It's also what causes the chips around the lug holes. I used an impact once on one bolt to remove a lug not (not put it on) and chipped the wheel, never again. Bad idea with lug bolts as when they come all the way out they wobble all around causing all kinds of damage. Then if you use them to tighten, they can crack the inserts. I use an electric impact set at very low torque (like 25 lbs ft) just to snug them up and then tighten with a torque wrench.

My wheels have suffered the same fate (chipped around lug holes). Would also like to know where you sent them Robb :)
