Looking for some advice on what I should be looking for in my pursuit of finding a Scud 16m. What do I want to make sure the car has? What should I stay away from? Any specific colors I should look for and or stay away from? Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated. Thanks
I don't really think you can go wrong with any 16M. Looks good in all the colors. Get one in a color you like. If you happen to like red black or yellow seems like there were many ordered in those colors so they should be relatively easier to find. The only thing I would have a preference against is the Apple ipod touch stereo. However there are very few for sale so if you find a great example that has it not sure I would skip it just for that reason--especially if you are like many who use the engine as the primarily sound system.
Like any Ferrari I would stick with original paint no accident car. The must have options the Alcatra interior seats, I personally hate the original cloth material seats, I never understood why someone ordered a brand new 16m and went with cloth seats. Also as mentioned above I would stay away from stereo with the iPod at this point can you even update those iPods anymore? The must have option the racing lightweight 5 spoke wheels. And if your really lucky carbon side skirts. As for color it's personal preference but I would stay away from yellow and black. Good luck in your search. The price will be high for a well sorted car but worth every penny.
Here you go Anthony. Personally I think a 16M looks killer in black. Seems like a lot of money but the don't come up for sale often at all. 2009 Used Ferrari 430 2dr Convertible Scuderia Spider 16M at Ferrari of Tampa Bay Serving Palm Harbor, FL, IID 14155342
Today's playing field seems to be 340k to 400k for a minter low mile proper car, so to answer your question 400k is the "too high a price for a low mileage 16m at this time" but in a year or 2 when those cars command 500k plus it will be cheap, if you can afford 340k spend the extra 50k for the mint one. The 16m still has breathing room and the price will increase if that means anything so the longer you wait the higher the price of admission becomes. As for the black 16m I agree they look great but as a current owner of 16m I would be worried about black for 3 major reasons. 1. I'm anal and black shows every fine hair line scratch in the clear , 2 I think black is hardest for resale for the same reason every scratch shows and turns buyers off and 3 mostly important, these 16m already get hot hot in the engine bay ,black makes it worse and even hotter. As for the black 16m just posted for sale negative on red leather seats. If your serious about 16m find the right car and it will be worth it. Good luck.
hey hey...easy on the black... But seriously, the car looks great in most any color, so pick what you like. There is a very nice and unique one for sale at Ferrari Newport Beach in Grigio Titanio with two tone red and black interior similar to the Stradale. And speaking of Stradale, I met my car's big brother the other day. A Canadian delivery Black Stradale. Wasn't in a good position for pictures, but did take a few. Was really cool to see the two cars together. And please note my car was not out while it was raining for fear the water might scratch the paint Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Has there ever been a bubble where limited addition low mileage Ferrari models were trading 0-20% over MSRP? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
the bubble where everyone has money to tie up in exotic cars over MSRP, not necessarily Ferrari related
Again.. Has there been a bubble where rare Ferrari cars were trading at 0-20% over MSRP? Bubble does not mean slightly overvalued.. It means grossly over valued.. That implies huge downside. Just don't see it at/slightly over MSRP.. Could they go down.. Yes.. Down massively not unless the financial markets seriously melt down but even then not sure they underperformed other financial assets. Sounds like maybe you are calling for a general fall in the market or perhaps? If you are right, I think you would have better luck finding some expensive shares to short (ie with more than 0 to 20% downside) vs Ferrari cars trading circa at or slightly over MSRP.... The last big Ferrari bubble you had cars (ie fees for example ) trading at multiples not just at or slightly higher than MSRP... On top of that if recent history is a guide.. You are going to see some serious redoubling of the money printing effort if you are right on your top of the market call... Personally, I have doubts that would do much to lower these cars in nominal terms.. In fact if anything MSRPs of new cars may go up even more and bring used modern classics with them (in nominal terms of course). Just my two cents. If I could call market tops or bottoms I would be significantly more wealthy. Unfortunately I don't know anyone else who can do it reliably either.
Hmm, I think getting to how it's a bubble could be argued. In any event, I do agree that these cars are less likely to suffer in the long-term. I think I've seen your CS around town btw. dark windows? Great car. FYI, if you're not aware, a 16m was delivered to the area earlier this year. Was on a truck with my buddy's delivery (94 turbo 3.6). Looked grigio silverstone.
I saw this one 2 Saturday's ago at the FCA event. It was black. Used 2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia 16M For Sale | Greenwich CT
