Great banner from an enthusiast's site using the ex-Patrick Mimran DD in Speciale Bordeaux Metallizzato to good effect. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Came across this QV with different wheels. Again, I suspect it's a shot from the late 1980's. Any idea what brand the wheels are? R Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ronal racing wheels. Application of which is sufficient to make Messrs Lamborghini & Bertone turn in their respective graves! Image Unavailable, Please Login
This car still belongs to the original owner. Probably the nicest original DD in existance. Completely original car just as delivered from the factory including paint. Car is still on MSO (never registered). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry. No access to specific records or archives. Goggle Alpine 7148L .Earlier discussion of the unit with reference to cars containing the player appear. For one entry, pistonheads.com makes mention of an 86 QV with the unit and identification of Alpine speaker number as well. Never heard of the unit without the "L" (7148). Quick question on another search--Any info/photo on placement of the factory option 3rd brake light on the euro downdraft cars? Thanks.
Absent any photo-documented corroboration, I think the 7148L was used in the 1985 DD, and in 1986 they moved on to the 7273 unit. Since you say Euro Downdraft, are you speaking of this Carello unit? (rear fog-light) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Its application was normally on the driver-side of the car, a quick way to tell if a car was LHD or RHD when looking from the rear Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a DD with a third brake-light, these were retrofitted for cars supplied to the Middle East and the USA. No rear fog-light on this car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did wonder where they would place the 3rd brake light. Not a good look imho. Thanks for the info on those wheels Joe.
From 1978 onwards, Barry ran T.W. Robinson Demolition Limited, an Irish company based in the UK. The multiple Countach owner was also a prolific motorsports competitor in some serious machinery, with his cars sporting the company name Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The P7 is coming back soon, as I mentioned before, logistical planning is in the works. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The P7 is back since a long time but with another thread pattern, as a standard tire, most likely they wanted to profit from the famous name. Ideally the would reproduce the original thread pattern with today's rubber blends. http://www.pkp.ee/ee/uudised/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Pirelli_Cinturato_P7-AA-baleling.jpg http://www.pirelli.com/tyres/de-de/pkw/ihren-reifen-finden/produktuebersicht/cinturato-p7#/overview Or the Corsa classic, like the Michelin TB15 http://www.soltrade.ch/de/site/reifen/pirelli-p7-corsa-classic/
yeah. I dont see what it would be such a big deal to do this. These tire would only fit vintage cars anyway. As far as 3rd brake light, Owner's inported 85 may not have them. My engine lid dont show any sign anything was ever mounted. May be this started a bit later on or they were mounted to simply get approval and removed? My car was promptly put to pure original euro with its original components shortly after and I know several got the same treatment.
Agreed. The thinking that started this was that if Pirelli could remake Cinturatos for the Miura from an era 40-50 years ago, they can certainly remake tires for the Countach from an era 25-35 years ago. The proposed tire is the P7R. Image Unavailable, Please Login
