If that car goes that route I say MG at 125k for its next stop.

People paint the bumpers all the time because of road rash, Not a big deal really. It happens so much I doubt many Fcars haven't had paint work.

Now was it good paint work? No, I agree with you and that's what you saw bad paint work.

Could have been hit by a shopping car or a kids bike, Still needs paint.

If you didn't crawl in the back and really look to see if it was hit don't make the assumption that it was that **** seems to stick to cars when people guess just because it had paint its been wreck.

The market seems to be strong, despite the changing season.

The F1 GTB listed here for 115k sold in a matter of hours.
The red / black 95 GTB listed on autotrader for 105k has been sold as of today.
The red / tan with tan dash GTS listed at UDrive is now sale pending.

I believe there are a few more, but that's I can recall at the moment.

At the same time, the yellow berlinetta with sports seats was a no-sale somewhere under 60k I think. And the red/tan '95 berlinetta was a no sale at 65k, then relisted at 72k and is now back down to 67k. Looks like people only want barely used garage queens?

1995 Red/Beige GTS on eBay with 29,600 miles in NY. He is asking $119,000

Ferrari 355 GTS Targa | eBay

It would appear he is estimating service costs rather than looking at receipts. Some of his assumptions are overly optimistic (or he badly overpaid) even working with $140 per hour rates.

Asking prices continue to go up.

I've been watching it closely. It seems only very low milage cars are moving very quickly. Lots of cars have been sitting for a few months. I'm sure they'll all sell eventually.

Definitely a strange market. Example: The red/tan 95 GTB at Jeff's (on Auto Trader) just had a price cut to $58,800. Miles matter? Seems like if it isn't low miles or something unique (i.e. the GTS at uDrive rosso barchetta with tan dash and steering wheel) it's tough to move.

One issue with that car other then a "minor accident" on the carfax is that if you google the vin you'll find it sold in 09 with less miles for $48,500 1995 Ferrari 355 GTB Coupe | Classic Car Auction of Michigan 2009 | RM Sotheby's

If these cars are ever truly collector cars mileage and accident history won't matter too much if repaired correctly. Sure a perfect low mileage cars will command more, but what's the point of having a car that sits in a garage on dry rotted tires with 20 years old oil and stale gas in it?

New '99 Silver berlinetta with 17k miles listed on eBay - $ 137,000

    Ferrari 355 F355 GTB | eBay

I am only bringing notice about the car. I am not using the asking price as an example of anything - good or bad - so no need for anyone to get excited.

That car was on here a few months ago for considerably less I thought. It got all the comments about having a dirty engine

Rosso Fiorano/Tan GTS 6 speed on eBay. That was the color combo I originally wanted but never found one in 15 years! Sweet car!

That car had a ton of paint work done to it. It was done by Bradan but still paintwork, nevertheless. Bumper (no big deal), hood (I guess no big deal either) but also the 1/4 panels and the roof. Don't ask me about the roof and what they did to it seeing how it's a GTS but the invoices said media blast roof...

It's also had an engine rebuild but valve guides have been done. It seems pretty clean overall but I'm kind of put off by the paint work. Why not paint the whole thing if they went to all that effort?

Also, how does partial or complete repaint affect it from a resale perspective?

If the paint work is documented (and it is on that car) it's only a positive in my opinion.

I had to either live with rock chips or respray the front of my 11k mile car and I had it painted. Could not be happier.

Patina is something I don't mind on my 59 Cadillac but I will do without it on the Ferrari.

The only time paint work makes me uneasy is if there are no before photos or documentation. Then I wonder was it repainted due to chips or was it hit by a train?

I kind of agree with you on this but if you're gonna spend all that time and money on repainting half the car, why not repaint the whole thing? I'm guessing Bradan could be contacted for pics but the 1/4 panels definitely worried me a bit.

Why it was partially painted I couldn't say. If the rest of the car could be wet sanded and polished with no flaws I suppose it would not be necessary.

Agreed. It's not hard to take a few pictures before, during and after a repaint. New buyer will appreciate the fresh coat rather than question why it was done.

I agree on the paint documentation. My 997 turbo has never been in an accident and neither has the 355. The turbo though has one nasty chip on the front fender and eventually I plan to have all or part resprayed. I'll do a before pic because if I ever sell the car, apart from me being tired of looking at it, the next owner will appreciate the documentation and that's it's been professionally restored like new.
