thks. Yes ANSA sport from the get go by the 1st owner. A DD can't have anything else IMO. In OH I guess you did not need to do inspections.
F1 impresario Gerard Lopez is selling his Countach Downdraft 12942 via Florent Moulin @ Art & Revs & [email protected] + 352 661 700 777 in Luxembourg. https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/lamborghini/countach/1986/341324 No affiliation. However, I have known this DD from new, the first owner (my neighbor) Ali Taffie owner of Earlgate Properties would leave it outside overnight and I would just stare at it, and it inspired me to get mine. Later Craig Baker owned it. Great example in Blu Acapulco with Panna interior. 12942 in the early days, I think these images are from circa 1987 or 88. They were taken behind Portman Lamborghini's London showroom on George Street. The black Downdraft is the ex-Greg Solomon DD UK-registered E 734 KYL, a LHD car which Greg would leave in my care whilst he was abroad for extended periods. I can say I exercised it properly! That's correct: Lamborghini Countach QV For Sale | Kent, South East, Kent | Furlonger Specialist Cars No idea why he is selling, though this car deserves a long-term owner. Here is another Downdraft Furlonger has sold in recent times: http://www.simonfurlonger.co.uk/docs2/cars/EFZZpEpAZEBvVUJFbY.shtml Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe this DD on the 50th Tour is the Furlonger car above. Note front wiper removed for driving visibility, 25th Anniversario lens covers affixed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Found these of 12942 from the days when Craig Baker used to own it and it still had the wing affixed. I wonder how many cars left the factory with a wing and now have it removed? And vice versa? And what the feeling is for or against the wing these days? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

The received wisdom is this DD now in Hong Kong is the ex-Australia special-order 'Blue Thunder' Countach QV built by the works in Fosters Blue for promotional purposes. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rear view, note tell-tale Aussie-spec rear panel side-marker. Can anyone confirm if this is indeed formerly the Blue Thunder Countach (known to have been repainted red)? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Like the tide, I ebb and flow with or without wing. Mine had the wing from new, so I would never remove it. But the car is achingly beautiful without it. I like the idea of keeping two rear bonnets to suit your mood.
I prefer the wing & it was an issue when I was buying. Now I look at a wingless car differently for whatever reason. If my wing had bubbles and corrosion (and basically uncorrectable) it might be enough to change camps, but mine is in terrific shape. An extra deck lid would be my answer as well.
Hi Joey, you mention it was an issue when you purchased your car. issue as in you had to have a car with the wing, or something else?. Rob
I passed on several cars because of no wing. The wing was a big part of the Countach look to me, at the time. If I had bought a wingless car, I'm sure I would have added one! Now I look at them a little differently. Wingless is cleaner, lower, & not as in your face, but in more keeping with the original design....and yet appears to be missing something at the same time. 2 deck lids!
To the best of my knowledge, Aussie has never required side markers. Hard to tell, but the ones in that photo look like they could be a second pair of original (front) repeaters? As an early teen, I felt that all Countachs should have wings - but these days, I definitely prefer them without (a disturbing sign of maturity on my part, perhaps...?).
The two lids one w/wind and one w/out is smart! Here are a few nice pics Andrew M. took. Geno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
